*to a party that should have said
I have met Mr Corbyn a few times when recording interviews with him, I was even able to chat to him for a while.
From the little time I spent with him and looking at his policies, he's one of a handful of politicians on this planet who is actually honest and sincere.
I have never voted before, but I will be if is made new labour leader.
The hate campaign against him is pretty disgusting, all the blairites are out in force to put him down. A sign that he is tackling corruption head on.
Blair was not a centre left politician, he was right leaning, the lib dems are more left oriented than the current labour party, things have become so manipulated by the media in this country that even the middle ground looks "far left"
Corbyn will be the best thing to happen to politics in this country,
If he gets in and labour back him there is a credible party for the 30% of the people that didn't vote at the last election. The tories won with a 23% "majority" the media in this country don't want to show the fact that Corbyn is the most likely to get labour elected,
He is also a credible alternative to the millions of people who voted green at the last election. Again unifying voters against the tories.
If labour don't back him however, the party will split, the lefties can go left, to the greens, and temper some of the ideological thinking, and make them a credible party. As those left wingers safe seats will almost certainly pass to the greens. But those in other labour seats will also transfer their votes, because as said earlier in the thread, some people vote labour because they "always have" and have always been the only real choice to oppose the extreme right tories. A labour split creates a void of power which can be capitalised on by the greens, lib dems and snp who would all quite happily create a progressive union against the conservatives.

I think he will. He could take votes from greens and UKIP that were former labour Votes. I think he could get in with a coalition with the SNP, which would be a very good start, then build on that. A lot of people voted with their pockets in the last election, JC has a chance.
I hope Corbyn gets in as he'll make this joke of a party completely unelectable

Yes, his honesty and sincerity is refreshing, that's how bad politics has become, when we put someone on a pedestal for being sincere.

.........................
They would have to mess up some considerable amount for Labour to get elected if they are to far left.
It is as simple as this, the majority of voters have a distrust or even dislike of Trade Unions, of which the left rely on and are at their bidding.
They are from a bygone era, and the way they are run now has little place in the modern world.

Why would that be, which one of his policies makes him unelectable.
The fact that he wants Bankers to be accountable for there mistakes or perhaps he wants to take care of the environment before we are all toast, maybe its the policy of not attacking countries for oil that will make labour unpopular?
When you have people like Rupert Murdoch propagating ultra right-wing nonsense in the majority of newspapers that he owns, it clearly does affect public perception hence why journalists who work for The Telegraph, The Sun etc demonise left-wing candidates.
Thankfully, a lot of polls are showing that JC is getting an overwhelming amount of support and is comfortably ahead of Yvette Cooper and Burnham. Kendall has next to no chance. Any neo-Blairite will not get elected after some of the stuff Blair did. How can anyone ardently support a man who introduced tuition fees, private-finance initiatives, participated in illegal wars etc.
The guy is Anti-austerity, anti war, he wants free university education, he wants to punish bankers for pishing about with our money, he wants to concentrate on the environment and he big corporations to actually pay there taxes.
I think he will be very popular.
I also think he will get Scotlands votes and the vote of anybody else like me who thinks 99.9 of politicians are crooks.
There is no such thing as 'unelectable'.
It all depends on circumstances and how the Tories are seen in 2020, which nobody can predict however much they claim to be able to.
Even the experienced pollsters called the election completely wrong yet we are now supposed to take seriously what people are predicting in 5 years time
If Corbyn wins then he is clearly more electable than the other candidates as its an election FFS.
This whole thing is a win/win for British politics whether Corbyn wins or not.
If he wins then we will have a genuine left wing opposition for the first time in a long time.
If he doesn't then at least a genuine debate has been re-opened and that should strengthen the other left leaning parties.
Young people have been enthused about politics for the first time in a long time and the old guard are petrified.
It's brilliant.
Personally, I don't like him, he is too rigid for me.
He'll appeal a lot to angry students though.

Meanwhile, here in the modern world the tax dodging multinationals & super-rich continue to do whatever the fluck they want as working people's collective power has been taken completely. Good one.
Interesting fact, banks have historically made far more money under Labour governments than Tory governments. Take that how you will.
