This performance reminded me of LVG's united team

Basically we had a bit of luck and a scraped win.
........
Your case was not luck but an inept ref/linesmen gifted you 3 points instead of the 0 you should have got.

That's called luck

BBC:
"Jordan Henderson is very much becoming Liverpool's midfield dictator. He has made 32 passes, with an accuracy of 84.4%, including the assist for the only goal. The new Stevie G?"

Right result table

Wonder where United would finish come the end of the season in 'Hafi's Right Result Table' ?

That really isn't very impressive. At all.

We used to gain the most nearly every season and Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City used to drop down the most. I think in 11/12 season right result had us already champions before the manchester derby title decider.

I see. Didn't watch the game.

Still, stats wise it's nothing to shout about

Everyone is just awful. Terrible. That's what makes it the best league in the world.

32 passes for 50 minutes is really low for a midfielder.
We probably averaged about 50 pases per 50 minutes for most of our midfielders last season.

For a central midfielder, its pretty high.
Last years top performers were around 84, 85 %.

Ander Herrera completed more passes (111) than the whole West Brom team yesterday (84).
.....
even though we lost and have had 80% possession and 26 shots and concede from a ping pong freekick..

posted on 17/8/15

84-85% is really low, most of our midfielders were 88-91%.

Surely that can't be true

crabs like carrick usually have up around 90%

they're pointless passes, but completed

posted on 17/8/15

Allen probably has 90%+ pass accuracy every game. It means nothing, it's all completely dependent on the player and team.

Carrick makes the most forward passes in europe.

posted on 17/8/15

111 passes when 90 of them are probably lateral or backwards, and none are key passes, is not impressive.

David Silva could make 3 passes a game, but you can bet that at least 2 of them were key ones or even goal assists.

Stats aren't everything.

posted on 17/8/15

United have become a team who spend a lot of time passing the ball backwards under Van Gaal, so I would expect a high completion rate when simply rolling the ball backwards to players who are in no way threatening the opposition.

TKT Michael Carrick rarely passes it sideways, if anything he passes to much forward. Couple of years ago.

How often does Carrick attempt a pass like Hendo's that led to Benteke's goal today? Never.

.........
If you watch most of our goals since Carrick came, its normally started off with Carrick either interecepting the ball and letting our attackers have a freerun leading to a goal. Thats why last season with Carrick we only lost one game he started and that was to Southampton at OT.
