Hafi every list you post is proving why stats are useless, look at some of the names he's in with

I always find it funny people think he passes it sideways as I never seen a player pass it as forward as much as he does and so accurately. Another statistic I saw was Carrick had the most accurate long passes for man utd.
They are invariably good passes too. Carrick makes more accurate long passes per game than any United player. Crucially, he finds the target with 78 per cent of those balls. Paddy McNair, Jonny Evans and Tyler Blackett can't top 50 per cent with Daley Blind (66 per cent) the only deep-lying player to get anywhere close to that figure..

Even Alonso or Xavi Hernandez praised Carrick a lot.

Jamie Redknapp hits the point here:
“They may not have the best stats for goals or assists, but they are at the heart of it all,” he said last week.

“It’s the same with Andres Iniesta and Luka Modric — they keep things ticking over, as does Carrick. He makes the passes that lead to the key pass.”

I always knew Schweinsteiger would just fill in for Carrick and not the other way round Why would LVG get rid of his one man team vice-captain for.

16 Carrick (Schweinsteiger - 60)
16 Carrick (Schweinsteiger - 60)
Both games this season with us 1-0 up.
Don't get how these people said Carrick to play in defence when his main position is midfield.

Why were you worrying about pool in the first place? That shows how little you know about football

I'm sure they were due to annihilate West Ham also.

-----

Arsenal fans thought the same look what happened on the opening day.

Despite of West Ham's poor record against Liverpool, this team is there for taking granted.

Liverpool are lucky to finish in the top10.

Michael Carrick only needed one appearance at a world cup knockout stage or be it one appearance in a tournament to be man of the match and look head and shoulders above Gerrard and Lampard and stop the opposition.

posted on 18/8/15

let me guess, the vid where Carrick passes mostly to opposition but it's called 'but the vision was there' or something because England were so desperate for a new saviour

So highly rated we broke most of the records with him in the side that probably will stand for many decades.

I always think if Carrick stayed at Tottenham and played in a side that finishing 5th-10th he would have got picked for England. When SAF and LVG think he is like our best player and Moyes being desperate for him to sign a new contract when he first came shows you how highly rated he is. Schweinsteiger comes on as a Sub for him, fitness issues or not that says everything and we led both games 1-0 before he came off.

posted on 18/8/15

Its telling last season he came on as a sub against Man City away with us down to 10 men and we started to outplay Man City in the 2nd half. Then we win 6 games in a row before an unlucky draw away to villa.

End of season he comes on as a sub away to Newcastle we score nearly straight away seconds after he comes on. We won 6 games in a row for 2nd time or be it 4 games and a few minutes of 5th game was with him playing. We destroy Tottenham Liverpool Aston Villa Man City and Carrick who started his season against Man City ends the season against Man City coming off at 4-1 up and not long after Man City start to attack for first real time in 2nd half and score. Then last 6 games we only win one of the last 6 games and go back to our form at the start of the season.

Is that a coincidence or that Carrick is really LVG philosophy. We rarely concede when Carrick plays and score more goals when he plays.
.......
Ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Aston Villa, Van Gaal highlighted the sense of calm Carrick has brought to the United camp.

"He brings a lot of experience but also a lot of composure," said the Dutchman.

"He can transfer my philosophy on to the pitch."

posted on 18/8/15

That is reflected in how their win percentage with him is 72 percent but 35 percent without him.
The stats that tell the story

- Manchester United lost only one of 16 league games he started this season, with 12 wins and three draws.
- Completed 90 percent of his passes this season, the highest rate of any Manchester United player, and fifth-best in the league (minimum 15 games).
What the experts say

"With Carrick in the team, United's record from the 16 Premier League matches he started yields an average of 2.4 points per game, a pace that surpasses champions Chelsea. Without Carrick starting in 19 matches, Van Gaal's team have averaged 1.4 points, a pace that would have them in ninth." -- John Brewin, May 2015.

"Carrick is not a goalscorer nor a match-winner, but he's crucial to a team that wins matches." -- Andy Mitten, March 2015.
.........
Most one man team LVG knows Michael Carrick saved him his job hence why know he is buying more players that can be a substitute for him if he is injured like last season. We would have won the title if he played and most of the games he played were against the top teams.

I have not seen anything about Liverpool that inspires confidence. Keeper is a joke, defence and midfield, complete shambles and benteke is decentish.

Also, I do not see much room for improvement. They will do well to finish in the top 7
