Has he got more goals now than he has hairs on his head?

I wrote about this the other day, he has fewer tournament goals than the likes of Torres and Van Persie players whose careers have sort of ran parallel to his own.

I doubt either will be remembered as legends by their own countries, Van Persie will be remembered as a great striker for Holland and Torres will be remembered as part of Spain's years of success, but neither will likely be considered the way Rooney is in England despite doing considerably more for their respective nations.

That's not even mentioning many of the other players who have done more for their countries than Rooney.

It was a tap-in as well, vs Ukraine in 2012 where the keeper let the cross go through his hands.

It's quite an achievement to be fair but it doesn't seem representative of his international career as a whole which has been a massive dissapointment. 1 World Cup goal which was a tap in sums it up really.

Linekar got 6 goals in one International tournament. Rooney has matched it in 11-12 years

Robbie fowler didn't manage it. Neither did Owen, shearer, lineker etc.

Rooney played more games than any of these lads

If Linekar would have played the same number of games, he could have been on 60-65
