they only want to attack English yobs
go to the game and enjoy it

Hard to agree with this when they stormed the English end in the stadium.
When it's people turning up for a pre-arranged fight, I can understand. But there were families and innocent people in the stands.
I wouldn't go. You only need to be noticed by one of the wrong lot and you’re done I’m afraid.
Perhaps you could invest in football shirts from one of the following nations:
Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa
It's probably just the English that the Russians are after (though I'd avoid Welsh shirts for obvious reasons), and how many Russians can distinguish between different "English" accents?
Fulfil your fantasy: be American or Australian for a day!
Rip Ronnie it was nice knowing you
Pop into one of the bars full of Russians and sell the tickets for a god price.
Terribly sad that we have the have this conversation. I went to the 2006 world cup in Germany and it was a joy to walk around the fans zones meeting people from all over the world. Everyone wearing the shirts from their respective countries - and all of us watching games on the big screens together at outdoor bars. It was a carnival atmosphere - fantastic.
There are always people who get drunk, throw up and embarrass themselves - frequently english people who still think it's cool to drink too much. But these Russians are not there to have fun at all - they are scary and organized thugs. I wouldn't go to the Russia v Slovakia game myself - it won't be a great game anyway, and you will be looking over your shoulder the whole time being worried. It can't be worth it.
