There was a show on TV recently about the young hooligans today, they focused on one guy, I think he was Spurs and he was getting in touch with fellow hooligans from all over the country through twitter and Facebook, pre-planning their set-to's...

British fans from 30yrs ago were rightly condemned and were punished accordingly. Their clubs were banned from Europe, and they suffered for it. We were punished, and punished to the extreme.

Why should it be any different now ? Any fans that behave like this should have their teams banned from competitions, and for a length of time as well.

How can anybody on here say they are going to go to the next world cup after what they have witnessed in France ?

It comes from the top down. Putin is whipping his nation up into a frenzy and the Russian fans are being patted on the back for their behavior as we have seen by the Russian captain, and some of their ministers.

On the other hand, England/Welsh players and coaches have come out and said the complete opposite to what the Russian captain has said.

You would be mad to go to the next world cup after what we are seeing.

Most of what I can remember with English fans was them fighting the Police, I cannot recall an incident where they roamed a city attacking anyone they felt like. Generally it was set up stall at a pub then invite trouble to them as opposed to going out looking for it.

UEFA haven't helped the situation today by telling any English or Welsh fans without tickets for the game tomorrow to go to Lille and watch in a fanzone! That was official advice from UEFA.

That's not a point-scoring exercise but a fact, most English fans have reacted positively since albeit with a few exceptions where the lunatics got their way..

I don't think I'll go to Russia (in the blindly optimistic assumption that Scotland qualify.) but I do know a few Russians and they are nothing like the hooligans I'm seeing on the telly this week, I'm not going to judge them on the minority same as I don't judge the majority of England fans.

The only things I have heard are from eyewitnesses and actual footage. Why would I trust a newspaper on these things? The same British press that said Liverpool fans pickpocketed the dead after their hooliganism caused Hillsbrough? Yeah, okay.

I can remember the bad years with British hooliganism, and not once did I see British hooligans duffing up young kids, old men and women.
