Moreno and Mignolet have the ability to destroy our season all on their own.

To make matters worse our new signings are average at best.

I think Klopp is going to come under a lot of pressure this season.

Disgusting to see fans abusing there own players.

complete lack of respect.

I call moreno and Mignolet the "chuckle brothers", and its for good reason. They are extremely poor defensively and asvu stated a keeper should command his box, Mignolet is useless at this.

When the season starts "expect" dropped points as a result of these players, please dont be suprised they really are poor and will cost us just like so many times last year! If you change nothing then nothing will change.

When clubs like Liverpool dont get into European football, particularly Champions League, it will always be tough to find players good enough.to make a difference at the very top level.

On a positive note, Klopp has said this is my team now so there are no excuses this season

Not wumming, but I honestly can't see Lpool finishing Top5.

Klopp despite of big name manager himself, haven't managed to pull single marquee signing yet. Sort of baffling, having no CL games is a main reason but still should be able to sign quality players.

Nor can I - but I think it will be costly errors as opposed to a lack of marquee signings that will prove to be our undoing.

Leicester showed that marquee signings aren't the be all and end all.

Bobby....I expect us to do well and I mean top 4 and a cup hopefully. Karius will be back probably around October so its no big issue and moreno if he continues to put in poor defensive issues I am sure will be replaced.

Essentially lfc could be playing a game a week for most of the season, I thinkmthats a huge advantage as is gaving klopp take the group for HIS pre season.

We already have our big signings at the club:

Coutinho
Firmino
Mane
Sturridge

If other clubs signed those then they would be classed as big signings btw.

We cant make marquee signings with FSG's stupid pay structure. What top player want's to be on performance related pay when they can go to another team that just pays big.

With Mourinho at Utd and Pep at City i think it might be tough for teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs to attract that top talent, and you would think that the likes of Utd/City/Chelsea will be much improved this season. Do think we are in for a real unpredictable season though.

Why all this talk of a "marquee" signing when that is not Klopp's way of working, FSG specificallytargeted him as manager because of his track record of signing players and developing them.

You can argue the merits of FSG policy but Klopp isn't about spending 100 million to try sign a Pgba or 75 on Higuain, it's just not the way he works.

Hopefully with longer on the training ground this season and a proper pre season we see the benifits and we become what JK want's us to be.

True but look back over the last 5 years. Dortmund, Atletico and more recently Leicester have shown that cohesive teams and good tactics is just as effective as a team of superstars.

It will be competitive with the traditional top sides all improving, some big clubs could easily miss out on CL football esp if we lose the 4th CL place with Leicester and Spurs not having European pedigree...I dont mean any disrespect on that by the way.

_________

Firmhino - was little known when arrived at Lpool
Couthino - Yes, he was famous player
Mane - Good player but not big name player or marquee
Sturridge - Had potential when arrived at Lpool but again wouldn't call him Marquee.

I don't see it as not signing marquee players.

Some of the hopeful signings turn out to be marquee players - look at Payet and Mahrez.

Idiot.

Firmino was far better known than Inter Milan's £8m Coutinho.

Metro give us some suggestions of who you think we should be signing as "Marquee" players?

Mind boggling how Mig and Moreno are going to be playing against Arsenal. Sure Krauis may have started but now with Mig in goals we are back to square one which is a team that is 8th best.

I'm not even sure if Moreno would get in any other prem side. In fact he won't

Milner may start at left back v Arsenal, not great to play a midfielder there but still he can do a job.

posted on 2/8/16

Milner is already our best left back at the club

What is a marquee signing?

£34m apparently isn't so what is?

posted on 2/8/16

I would consider a marquee signing as someone who is a regular for a top 4 finishing club i.e Kante

What we did is buy a inconsistent player from Southampton like we did a few years back with Lallana.

You're going to concede goals with Klopp as manager, you could have a 25 year old Buffon in goal and that would be the case.

Granted Mingolet isn't a great keeper, but the defence and midfield in front of him don't offer much help. Just the nature of the beast,
