Would be the perfect coach to help turn around the soft losers mentality we have currently, which is why it would never happen.

Simeone is no doubt one of the best coaches in the world. However he will inherit a squad that is so far away from his ideal that it will take him 5 years just to get back to where we are now. So no. Pep would have been our ideal coach but I would personally go for someone like Loew now that Pep is not available.

I think the only way we will get change however is to promote Wenger to the board and to bring in a younger coach. In that case you wouldn't need a name. Just a very good young coach with new ideas.

He'll be at Inter next. He's said on more than one occasion it's a dream of his to return to Inter

Simeone ain't a good match for Arsenal at all.

He's not a yes man and would clash with your greedy board won't happen

Simeone has said in the past that the first thing he looks for in players is a winning mentality. Sounded very results driven which is very different to Wengers sticking to his footballing philosophies, even though they reap no better success than top 4. I'm not sure he'd want tohe job with the way Arsenal are run.

He doesn't speak English and I read that he has no plans to learn it, so language would be a barrier. His style would take 2 or 3 seasons to really bed in and work anyway.

For that and many other reasons I don't see this as a viable option from an Arsenal point of view.

More likely to go for Howe, or De Boer or Koeman or maybe an ex player, Arteta perhaps....

He's going to Inter.

I have a feeling the next AFC manager will be French.

Will arrive at the Emirates with a large black beard and glasses, and go by the name Alain Vangar….

Why do we have to promote wenger??? He hasnt proven himself as a football administrator plus he has some dodgy ideologies i am not too crazy about.

Inter or Lazio will be his next job. Most likely Inter.

Not sure how having Wenger as a board member would help as he wants control of everything.

With our board and owner? Absolutely. Have you forgotten Gazidis talking about not being able to compete? Whatever you say abt Athleti they are very creative abt spending and willing to turn down offers of £80m+ for their star players.

Obviously he isn't going to get control of everything anywhere else. He suggests he has turned down offers from PSG, but how long would he last at clubs these days where immediate results are an absolute? So I think a seat on the board and still being involved would be quite attractive. The real question is whether Josh Kroenke would want it.

So Simeone is able to work with a "creative" transfer strategy, we are able to spend £100m in one window, yet Simeone would take us backwards for 4 years and only get back to where we are now in the 5th year.

Hardly sounds like a top manager

As if it would take five years.

That isn't even for an improvement, that is to get us back to where we are now

Yet Rioch and Wenger transformed our 9 men behind the ball, direct to Wrighty, cup team into champions in a couple of years with a more restricted budget (compartively speaking)

It only took him two and a half years to transform Atleti from Atleti from midtable to champions, for crying out loud.

It wouldn't take 5 years, probably 2-3.

Maybe to win the league, not to get you to the level you are at now, though.

I would ague he had more players that suited his style at the club. Its a very different challenge at Arsenal whose present manager has ingrained a philosophy for the last 20 years.
