Got the Icelandic clap.
very good. Ask a simple question and get boolarks back.
I hope nothing too serious with Bod but I do hope it's enough to keep him out of Iceland games next week as he could do with a break. I don't think anyone that saw the hammering he took against Brentford would be surprised he missed a couple of games.
As for Batth, tam, nothing about being undroppable just about whether the team would be better without him. After the last two games I accept there's an argument that we would be better off without him. But at his normal level of performance I don't think any two from Stearman, Hause and Iorfa would give us a stronger central defence
I don't disagree that we may not have the partnership DJ. For me Iorfa and Stearman are two centre backs who want to cover behind one who imposes themselves. In terms of physique and aerial ability, EEL is probably the closest to Batth that we have.
You could probably pair either Stearman or Iorfa with either of Batth and EEL and it would work. Whereas Stearman and Iorfa or Batth and EEL as potential pairing probably wouldn't work as well, as both combinations are similar and don't cover the others deficiencies.
In hindsight we probably sent the wrong centre back out on loan, having seen Hause struggle this year. As dropping Batth would now mean we don't have an imposing centre half on the pitch (although you could argue we haven't for the last few games).
That is the reason I said he is undroppable. If we can't drop him after he has cost us points in two games, when can we?
Well that was disappointing to say the least, agree with most of that GB, but I wouldn't drop iorfa, he was our best defender yesterday along with doc. CBJ needs dropping and to be honest Id play Coady there he did well when he came on. Prince looked shattered yesterday and needs a rest and as far as Edwards goes...did he touch the ball in the first half? The thing is with him if he doesn't score I can't see what he brings to the team, headless chicken comes to mind. Thought costa was motm.
No one is stopping you from supporting Southend Cyp or any other side come to think of it. You've been negative for almost two seasons now. Not sure how long you've followed the Wolves, but those of us who have been with 'em for 50 years or so know what a roll-a-coaster ride it always is.
I'll still be following them until I get put under.
As for Batth, I mentioned in an earlier comment that he's has been responsible for the goals we've conceded in the last two games, yet some want to drop Iorfa, who I believe is playing well at CB.
Barring injuries, I'd have Silio, Batth, Iorfa and Doherty as our back four in the next game.
The squad and the coach are still settling in and it'll take more time for it to gel. Let's not forget that most of the new players are from abroad and we all know how long it takes for those coming in from another country to get used to English football, especially in the Championship.
Have a nice day.

Agree with your comments generally gb. I don't think Norwich were that much better than us and they are possibly the best team in the division. Although we can pick a few players that didn't do well yesterday it's a game I think we would have won if Bodvarsson was fit. And now Dicko is nearly fit we will finally have a good alternative to him. So that is our main problem and we have a solution to it.
As for the defence I think Batth has played a part in the last four goals we have conceded and that's clearly a big issue. I still think he is the best centre half at the club and I don't see a ready made partnership if we dropped him. I think Borthwick-Jackson has been a disappointment after an excellent debut and I don't think Doherty is playing anywhere near as well as last season. Strangely he now seems far more effective at left back than right back nowadays. And I personally think Iorfa will make a better full back than centre back. At the moment the back four I would play is Iorfa, Batth, Stearman, Doherty.
The other change I would make is to move from 433 to 4231. Saiss, Edwards and Oniangue make for a deep lying and uncreative line and I don't think it's a good combination. Edwards gave a reminder in the second half that he is still a contender for being the best number 10 at the club. And considering he is our most expensive signing I think we need to see more from Cavaleiro.
My idea of our best team at the moment would be;
Ikeme
Iorfa, Batth, Stearman, Doherty
Saiss, Price
Costa, Edwards or Mason, Teixeira
Bodvarsson
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well would you look at that, exactly what I have been saying regarding the system, we are going nowhere if we continue with three workhorses in midfield.
We do not need three players of that style in midfield at all, we need four attack minded, creative players as far as I am concerned and jus two workhorses and I think Tex would be fantastic as the focal point in the ten position.
Yesterday the midfield was comfortably the biggest weakness for 65 minutes as they did not do a thing to get us into the game and barely covered the defence and didn't supply/support the front three.
I posted at half time the stats regarding touches, two of ours had 42 touches combined which is pathetic whilst Norwich three had near 150. Oniangue was absolutely shocking and I see Perton asks ''did Edwards touch the ball first half'', well barely is the answer, but that was still 33% more touches than oniangue!!!

Edwards should be an impact sub as we progress and yesterday highlighted that view yet again for me, 25 fantastic minutes sparking life into us after 65 pointless minutes.
That said the bigger issue right now is zengas tactics, I just don't see them working consistently, we have some genuine ball players now but seem to want to ignore that and just hope to catch teams flat at the back.

Christ. Just watched the highlights and that first goal was worse than I originally thought. Batth didn't even look at the ball, which was just a hopeful punt into the area and should have been easily dealt with.
The defending for the other chance which Ikeme saved with his legs first half gets worse every time you watch it too.

Don't need to get over myself. You moan about people being against you, but when they are not, you try and create the situation. If you're going to do that, you need to stop moaning about it.

Stop making it about you..........
Gonna be annoyed if bod plays for Iceland the next few weeks, needs to be a rule that if you are injured going into a break then you can't play.
But we should let oniangue play as he needs benching for a while until he shows something....anything!!!
Preacher , that's a new one for him.
Tell me how highlighting a comment FROM Cyp about HIM wishing he supported Southend is "offending" him? If he can't enjoy being a Wolves fan, then he is welcome to support someone else. His remarks over a long period of time have been negative and mostly sarcastic.

How would you have responded if you told to support another club when you didn't back McCarthy? If the answer is anything other than not well, then you aren't a real supporter.
Your post was antagonistic. You know that, as that was your aim.
Speaking of mccarthy, Ipswich fans want to support another club at the moment, looking to protest, booed the players and Mick and generally not a happy place.

My idea of our best team at the moment would be;

I disagreed with DJ also. If you scroll up you'll see the team I picked was different.
Stop making this about being you versus anyone.

Don't need to get over myself. You moan about people being against you, but when they are not, you try and create the situation. If you're going to do that, you need to stop moaning about it.

Who created shat???
It was a little off the cuff remark followed by my own views, it literally took up six words of my reply and wasn't aggressive, nasty or anything of the sort, you have just overreacted.

Oh wait...he's got "the tongue in cheek syndrome"

Wow, Ipswich lose again and fail to score again.

Not sure we're in a position to ridicule other sides just yet. I think we'd have had a tough game against Huddersfield, seeing as they're top of the table.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah - Edwards and Costa top the E&S Player Ratings, both with 7/10.
