Heard this on talksport about an hour ago.
The presenter (Hawksbee or Jacobs) said he didn't join as it was silly..........Most people should know that City are not your plastics of this world....they're almost embarrassed by the riches if anything........

Bit of a daft one tbh...I lived in Manchester when you were shiiite and the fanbase was always there.

Probably most of the down to earth fans in the world despite our recent success with most of us enjoying the ride secretly expecting it to all go terribly wrong true "City" style.

With our fantastic owners and infrastructure no chance of that happening though....Here to stay haters

The best one for me was the Bournemouth fans singing it. Without even a shred of irony.

They seem to forget that we were playing them in the third and averaging 28000.

Don't know what their gates were at the time but they were no where near what they get now.

So the real question for them should be where were you before your recent successes?

They only time they filled that ground that season was when we played them and poor old Kevin Horlock got a second booking, resulting in a red card, for 'Aggressive Walking'.

Typical City!

As bad as the football was back then, I have great memories of those pre-money days.

As I remember City were getting 30k when they were in the 3rd tier so its unfair but you could argue that if the intention was to wind you up its worked.

We were practising for the Chelsea game.

Exactly i dont take it to heart its all terrace banter as Ace says, whenever i've met a fan of another team they all say they are happy for us and we deserve it and they enjoy watching our attacking style

Aggressive walking???

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Straight up

On my life, the referee told Joe Royle that he booked Kevin Horlock for "Aggressive Walking".

We had 2 players sent off for 2 bookable offences that day (Kevin Horlock and Jamie Pollock) and another 9 other players booked (I think)

The most ridiculous, biased refereeing performance I have ever seen in my life.

And all I had to do for the privilege was fork out a load of money on a ticket and drive from Manchester to Bournemouth and back.

"football chants rarely have their roots in reality, but rather tend to be a vulgar attempt to hit a nerve"

Yeah, good job that didn't work.

Nah, quite news day me thinks during the international break. But we've been hearing this for so many years, it's actually more boring than annoying. Can't they think of anything better?

It's one of those stupid football things. It doesn't matter where we were when we were shiiiit. Or that we have 47,000 empty blue seats, or that the ADG has invested 17 billion petro dollars in us. The thing that matters is that we aren't shiiit any more.

I said on a thread on here last week that city don't deserve the plastic tag.

As has been said on here city had great support even in the lower leagues.

I've went to Maine road a few times and always had a good day out even when Brian hortons city beat us under ossie 5-2 and we were sat in a temporary stand in the piffing rain with no roof.

My fav spurs v city game is the f a cup final replay in 81.

Great game and although Ricky got the winner city scored 2 great goals in that game.
