No. Firmino is a main reason why we create so many chances. He's so clever. He never stops running. With his movement off the ball he pulls defenders with him and opens up space for his teammates. Sturridge should be playing when Mane goes to the African cup.

Sturridge needs to move club pronto. He's a 20 goal a season striker when fit and played up front and would get into about all but 3 teams in the league.

No question about it. Firmino starts ahead of him. People like to say Coutinho is our most important player, I would argue under Klopp it has been Firmino 👍

Big fan of Sturridge's ability but no.

5 goals and 5 assists so far this season

wouldn't be surprised if he got 15 goals and 15 assists this season

So no to answer your question.

He'd have taken that chance against Saints though

More than likely. I wrote last week that I reckon he'd have more than five goals if he'd started ahwas of Firmino but we'd have scored less as a team.

It's all good though and adds great depth.

Firmino appears to have developed even greater than Lallana under JK, and while Daniel S is a fantastic player, still, for me, one of the best strikers to grace the PL, Firmino gets the nod.

Talk of Daniel leaving the club defies belief.

I'd start sturridge against Sunderland for sure. I felt he should have been on earlier last week too. Firmino is rightfully first choice at the moment but there are game where sturridge is better suited.

And firmino is alot better so makes sense

Sturridge is a more clinical finisher and natural centre forward, but Firmino offers a lot more for the team that what Sturridge does.

Sturridge is a very good option to have on the bench if Liverpool need a goal. But I don't see any reason why Liverpool should drop him right now unless it's necessary of course.

Sturridge for the injured Lallana and interchanging roles with Mane on the right. Firmino slightly withdrawn as a second striker interchanging roles with Couts on the left. Hendo with on of Can or Wij in midfield.

Both players have their strengths but Firmino's intense pressing makes him better suited for our style of play.
Against Sunderland, I would start both as we are bound to have many chances in that game.

Play both.

But if Sturridge doesn't feature and we bring in Wij, you'd have to say the writing on the wall for him
