As crazy as it sounds manc i think these games will suit as more, our problem seems to be breaking down teams who sit deep

-------------------------------------------------

Breaking down these sorts of sides isn't as big an issue as it was last season. We've carved out good chances against the majority of teams this season, not always many but we're so bereft of something when it comes to sticking the ball in the bloody net and this problem is further compounded by us not being able to keep enough clean sheets, especially in games like yesterday where Stoke failed to create a meaningful opening without help from us.

If the City game is moved, then with the exception of Everton and West Brom at home, we don't play anyone in the top 10 until Chelsea in April. We need to go on another run during this next 9 games with our end of season the way it is.

Leicester and Southampton away will be our toughest games til we play Chelsea in April IMO

With the way we have clawed back points its certainly not unfeasible that we cant keep doing so

posted on 22/1/17

Dropping points in winnable games has been the stpry of our season, though.

We draw too many games as we can't kill teams off despite completely dominating games.

Totally agree, yet were still clawing back points

And then Arsenal moved four more points away from us. The reason they'll get top four and we may not is because they consistently beat the lower and midtable teams where we draw.

If the City game is moved, we have nine winnable fixtures in a row.

Everton at home and Southampton away would be the toughest two games, IMO, which says a lot.

If we win seven of those nine, it is overwhelmingly likely that we will be sat somewhere in the top four by the end of that run, given that other top six sides play each other and other top ten sides during that period.

Then matters will be in our own hands.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the next time we drop points is at Leicester.

Very true

Leicester are decent at home

We'll probably draw five of those.

There home record this season has been average at best

No doubt will play like a cup final against us though. Similar to how they did vs city.

It's not impossible but the goal difference column by end of Jan usually tells its own story. We're 6th on merit.

Europa is to return as well. Great that it gives us an extra chance at cl football. It won't be an advantage in top 4 race though. Far from it.

It's decent like I said. They have lost 3 out their 11 home games, plus they tore city a new one in one of them.

How come you lot always make miserable old gits like me and Dunc appear to have the same enthusiasm, verve for a challenge, and belief as kids' TV presenters?

Do you all have the AIDS or something?! (I sincerely hope none of you have the AIDS.)

We'll likely be ahead of City and Liverpool in a couple of weeks.

Good old fashioned optimism?

Our fixtures are favourable. City's and Liverpool haven't

Is it that hard to be excited?

Even after a 9 win in a row spell and with Hull at home to come who we just beat the other week?

You seem very miserable.

We've gained 5 points in total. We are 4 points now behind with a substantially worse GD than everyone else. We need to go on another 6-8 game winning streak just to be probably either slightly ahead or in contention then we have our very very tough run
