Test cricket is very predictable at the moment.
England, Australia, Pakistan and India are all virtually unbeatable in 'home' conditions. Yet they all struggle away.
The great test teams such as West Indies ( Richards/Marshall/Holding) and Australia (Ponting/McGrath/Warne) were winning away series against good opposition.
That's why we need a test championship played in one country over a short period.. You can play it iin England..
people will complain about lack of people in the ground.. You get empty stadiums in most countries for test cricket anyway..
the top 6 teams playing each other over 5 matches.
Then do it all again in Australia/SA and India...I want something to change this dour crap am seeing in recent years..
Kohli says "sweetest" win of his career. To get to 1-1 v a team no-one rated away from home. Not to mention, they've been whitewashed in Asia type conditions lately... "sweetest ever"... ok kohli. Talk about insecure.
Very true, home sides usually coming on top and no one really strong enough to dominate. As much as it pains me to say I loved cricket when Australia were on top, their aggressive style and that anticipation when it was India's turn to "try" to beat them. The ashes were great to watch then as well, now they're a bit meh

We have some fight unlike the weak excuse of a cricketing team that is Pakistan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dogs obsession for the all mighty Pak is reaching new levels. You just beat a poor Aussie side at home and all you can think about is the green men
This is the same Aussie side that Pak and Sri Lanka have whitewashed at home.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pakistan don't even play at home and their "home" conditions are completely different
I think India will go onto win the series now. Can't see Australia coming back from this..
Still close tbh, its not as though India have dominated. Both teams looking equally woeful, no doubt India's home advantage may just edge it
What a turnaround! One of the best Test matches this decade in India for sure - so closely fought and eventually well deserved. That partnership between Che and Rahane eventually took the game away from the Aussies. Credit to Rahul as well for his batting. Jadeja's figures in the second innings were incredible and allowed Ashwin to pick up the scalps from the other end as usual. Ishant and Yadav also played their part. Did not think we could win the game after being bowled out for 189 within the first day.
Also, have to credit the Aussies for the tremendous fight they've shown this series but my god what a bunch of hypocrites. Healy, Slater, Clarke - all happy to engage in sledging in their days but now pipe up when they get some back
I don't get Mitchell marsh, I think he's crap

Despite the limitations we are 10 years unbeaten at home
Healy, Slater, Clarke - all happy to engage in sledging in their days but now pipe up when they get some back

100%, you seen the headlines in aussie papers the last few days calling kohli the biggest bully in cricket, aussies certainly a team and country who cant take it when they lose
Trust me Kaz, it's quite hilarious. If anything Kohli is more Aussie in the way he plays cricket than the lot of them put together
The thing with our Asian players is that they seem to have a massive inferiority complex when it comes to playing the likes of Australia. Kohli is the complete opposite - doesn't give a faaack who he offends or písses off and fair play to him. I personally love the Australians getting a taste of their own medicine.
Also, can you imagine the backlash had an Indian or even a Pakistani player looked up at the balcony like Smith did for DRS help. A "brain fade" as he described it is a complete joke. Should get a hefty fine in my book. Lehmann and Cricket Australia can cry all they like over Kohli's criticism over their "Dressing Review System" but Smith got caught red handed. In the presser he was also more than happy to throw Renshaw under a bus too - "Matty said look up and I did"
tbh it wasen't just once as well, the aussie commentators were a bit embarrassed when it happened, the aussie media are the worst though, happy to be offensive and racist(not all of them) then cry when they get pushed themselves
To be honest I only caught that one instance however if Kohli's allegation is proved true we can confirm the Aussies are serial cheats which we can add to the list of serial sledgers and serial caaants in general.
I am so glad India have had 3 consecutive great captains, first Ganguly then MSD and now Virat. MSD was less aggressive along 3 but he had his own ways but I absolutely agree with Kev H sometimes you need Virat like captains to teach aussies lesson or two.
It's amazing how Ausies are rattled...Ganguly is right, found guilty (which is ofcourse the case, caught on live camera) Smith and his batting partner should be banned for next game or two and fined. It's a breach of cricket law/rule as simple as that.
Also thanks to Umpire for handling this situation well and spotting Smith taking help of dressing room.
This is starting to turn into a fight between two bald men over a comb...
Australia and India are the two teams in world cricket who have been pushing the boundaries of fair play the furthest for the last few years....
We have seen both teams crack open deadlocked Test matches with highly suspicious activities (be it dodgy pitches, chucking or Aggressive field tactics), and both teams have exhibited spoilt brat behavior again and again.
Steve Smith got caught trying to cheat. He needs to just man up, admit it, and apologise and serve a match man.
India need to stop their sanctimonious whining.
ps - kohli said he reported to the umpire's a few times. Umpires saying was only reported once - Who is lying?
They are rattled all right - every Australian and his dog from Hayden, Clarke, Slater, Healy to Lehmann, Ponting and Warne have weighed in with their opinions on how the big bad Indian Kohli is sledging the innocent lambs from Australia and how he should face sanctions. Not so nice when the shoe's on the other foot eh boys?
MSD for all his amazing traits was a timid Test captain at times. Dada was aggressive but rarely did he take it to a personal level. Kohli does and this is what gets under the skin of the Aussies: the fact he is very much like them. In my lifetime I haven't seen an Indian player who slings mud back to the extent Kohli does as well as has the talent to back it up. It simply isn't in Indian players natures to sledge - most of whom come from relatively poor beginnings and tend to remain out of the media. Pujara, Dravid, VVS, Rahane are all prime examples of this.
The way the Australian media is basically having a meltdown over their captain being caught effectively with his pants down in that press conference is quite something else. They seem to have forgotten the way their players, media and fans hounded out Broad for his refusal to walk when edging to slip - one of their national newspapers if I remember even emblazoned "cheat" across the front page. Despite all the hara-kiri around that, Broad was perfectly entitled to stand his ground (as immoral as that may be). However, if one of their players, in this case Captain Clean is not just accused but caught cheating, it must be a conspiracy against them. Incredible bunch!
highly suspicious activities (be it dodgy pitches, chucking or Aggressive field tactics)
-----------
apart from chucking what's illegal about the other two?
-dodgy pitches is what home advantage is for, might not make the best spectacle but that's just tough
- aggressive fielding is that when the poor batsmens feelings get hurt when too many nasty things are said and when too many fielders are close in
sorry should have said

Fair points Kaz. The point is Aussies and the current India team have a lot of similarities when it comes to unsportsmanship and ungentlemanly behaviour...
Ps- Healy has always a noob. So not sure what the fuss is about regards to his commentary.. most commentators go overboard - kinda what they do. Clarke was slating Smith yesterday, so harsh to say they are all alike. Think it's a storm in a teacup. Although Smith with clearly wrong and Kohli had every right to object... Not sure about his choice of words at the press conference though
yh I think kohli is someone whilst fiery doesn't really have a off switch, I mean he made his point on the pitch and great captains would then leave it to everyone else to chime in, he does tend to carry on after the fact quite a bit, maybe trying to fire himself up as he's not been at his best batting wise this series?
Yeh, Ashwin chucks. But Ajmal was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Idiot Afridi at it again.
