yh I think kohli is someone whilst fiery doesn't really have a off switch, I mean he made his point on the pitch and great captains would then leave it to everyone else to chime in, he does tend to carry on after the fact quite a bit, maybe trying to fire himself up as he's not been at his best batting wise this series?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, that's where he differs from the greats. Obvious for everyone to see what Smith did and Smith was getting hammered at his press conference and India had just won. That was enough. He's gone way over the top and I'm surprised some India fans think he did right.

Can't wait for Kohli to come to England next year..He won't be able to act arrogant.England will pummel him and India..Same when India go to Australia..

If I was a betting man I'd be willing to bet a fair bit that this Indian side will not get as badly "pummelled" in England as England did in the reverse series last month.

Kav, don't you know the only thing that matters is how teams perform in England? How silly of you.

Ignoring the fact this is a conpletely different side to the old side of 2012 and 2015 under Dhoni. Your arrogance knows no bounds.

Virat Kholi the sneaky little rat 🐭🐍

"Oooh umps he's not playing fair" 😢😢😢

Then proceeds to call out Smith in the media after the game.

Yeah the aussies get stuck in but once it's off the pitch (with the exception of that nob Warner) that's that.

Pathetic.

3 test tomorrow. I hope it as good like the second one

Well done virat, he's motivated Smith to a century

No doubt Kohli would have led the applause for Smith's century, that is if he had the ballllllls to be out on the field when times are tough .....

missed this mornings play, looks like a good day for Australia, pressure going to be on indias batsmen now as aus look good for 400+

posted on 16/3/17

Was Smith allowed to look up at the Aussies after he scored a ton or would he have been called a cheat?

What's the pitch like?

posted on 17/3/17

Indians are very quiet

posted on 17/3/17

There was so much talk about this pitch being a mess mine field before a ball was bowled. Smith said it will turn from ball 1. Aussies and theor whinging never stops. This is a terrific pitch.

Hopefully India can repeat what they did to England

although have to smith is heads apart from all the current set of batsmen. Incredible consistency and scored runs everywhere

Really happy for Maxwell - he's played some unreal knocks for Punjab down the years in the IPL and now showing he can contain his game in the longer format. One of our batsmen also has to go on and play a knock like Smith did. Also Jadeja is one hell of an athlete: bowled over one third of our total overs. Got a five-for and had that great run out too. A solid start from the openers as well - 25% of their score has been wiped out in 40 overs meaning we're scoring at a pretty similar rate.

However it's a long way out of the woods yet. Still three days to go and Kohli is nursing a shoulder problem. The pitch doesn't seem as if it will break up too much tomorrow and it's not as bouncy as Pune where Lyon wrecked havoc. Rahane and Nair's contributions may need to be very heavy if India are going to have any chance of winning this game. A collapse tomorrow of any sort and Australia will capitalise no doubt.

Yh Kav I think India deffo need to score very big. I have no doubt that this pitch on day 4/5 will be impossible to play especially with jadeja' accuracy. Need pujara and vijay to score 100s and then let kohli and rahane and Nair consolidate.

Overall as the home season has gone by, jadeja has outbowled ashwin. Will be a tough call on who gets picked as first spinner in away conditions

I would assume Ashwin would get picked in overseas conditions and he has out performed Jadeja with the bat.

Yh I think that might be the case. But won't be totally surprised if jadeja gets the go ahead. He can dry up runs which I think at times ashwin fails to do and especially on flat wickets. And jadeja's fielding is probably the best in the team.

Why hasn't Jadeja flourished with the bat? Am I right in thinking that he's got 2 triple centuries in first class cricket.

Jadeja has the ability with the bat but his bowling has always been far superior. Ashwin was an opener when he started playing Cricket so playing a longer innings comes more naturally to him. Jadeja is a hitter and often gets frustrated when he loses his wicket. Overseas it has to be Ashwin for me as Jadeja is not a massive turner of the ball - his wickets are mostly through changes in angle, speed and trajectory. Both equally as effective on their day and we're fortunate to have such a spin duo who compliment each other so well.
