It's not a witch hunt. Why are fans so paranoid that media organisations are against them?

I wasn't aware that United are such an exception among the big clubs. I wouldn't bother watching a women's United, but the point made in the article about the dreams of girls playing football struck home a bit. I help coach at the club my twin sons play in. At their age group it's not gender segregated and there are a few girls who play with the same love for the game as the rest. I know we like to smirk about the inferior quality of women's football but I'd feel a right schite telling one of them they shouldn't dream of playing at the top level as the boys do.

Also, it's fair to say it's very bad PR. It looks like an anomaly. I reckon it's worth correcting it.

This sort of response is our own version of abu's, a paranoid, everyone's out to get us type attitude. We actually get a pretty easy ride in the media.

Couldn't care less, have probably watched about 5 minutes of women's football and the level was the same as it is in my local park.

Manc. The people who care are all the girls who dream of playing for a women's team of the club they and their families support. And their parents and siblings and friends. And the people who go to watch.
So that's thousands then who care.

This. A lot of girls support the club, and go to matches, often with their dads. I know at City they really like the women's team and identify with the players. Who tbh are often better role models than the over privileged men. It strengthens the club and the community around it.

They should be applauded for not bowing to the pc brigade. Didn't Utd reclaim their place as the worlds biggest club this year, is so it hasn't done them any harm. The standard of goalkeeping in the womans game makes it unwatchable.

It is pretty stupid we don't have a women's team.

We are supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in the world with seemingly unlimited funds and yet we don't have a women's team at a time of huge popularity in the women's game.

Pawl. Unwatchable to you, but not to all those who go to watch, obviously.
Nothing to do with the PC brigade, just treating people fairly.
The size of the club is immatériel

Apart from the fact that MUFC should have a woman's team there is a massive revenue and pr opportunity the club is missing out on. United ladies would become massive. Typical of those who run United that they can't see where girls football is going to be in the not too distant.

The standard of goalkeeping watching England mens team is appalling but we all watch that

Anyone over 16 with who has a male premier league footballer as a role model needs shot. Players should be scorned not idolised. Most are over privileged self absorbed w@@nkers

I'm guessing that those mocking the idea don't have daughters who want to play football.

The standard of the game really is missing the point

United have an obligation to their female fans to represent them with a woman's team.

Not good in this day and age that the biggest club in the country is behind on equality like this.
