Where do we see that number of goals coming from within our squad if the same number of goals are needed this season?

This would make a good thread when we have our squad for the up coming season.

It is futile asking the question with the squad as it stands now.

So, RDD, my advice to you here is to redo this thread once the season is about to kick off and see which poster comes closest to predicting who scores all the goals.

It could well be your best ever contribution to this site.

Of course you will have to make sure you don't get banned again between now and then.

Good article until for some reason a few utd fans needed to go off topic and bring up trophies won and Liverpool insecure or what idk?

Obviously we expect utd to get some more signings in and players like Pogba Mikhi to have settled and provide more etc along with who ever is the main strike in Zlatans place will get chances and score. But Mourinho doesn't care if its 1-0 or 6-0 as long as its 3 points. Are we saying to get top 4 you need to score 75 goals? because you don't.

I would have thought that would be the thinking of most managers.

SAF once said he would rather see a 1-0 than a 5-3.

The sad thing is Utd have the players to be a real entertaining team, should be ripping teams apart like they used to with the pace and talent they have imo.

We don't have the pace in the right places though. Hopefully Jose will address this.

Zlatan, for all his goals, was slow. Mata, Groot and Carrick have no pace or high enough energy levels.

Hopefully it is just rumour that Jose wants Matic. He will not make us much better.

with Matic and Fabinho (hopefully) coming in, I expect Pogba to go above 15 goals. Herrera 10, Mikh above 15. new striker above 25.

Mikh, Pogba, Herrera and New striker being sure starters.

Rashford, Martial, Mata, Perisic (assuming) should contribute their quota of goals also

cahill managed to outscore batshuayi (!) kompany missed most of the season and still scored 3, spurs got 3 goals out of their left backs etc.

Erm, yes, 78 goals was the minimum scored by a top 4 team this year. Anything less and you didn't get top 4.

Again, the supposition by united fans is that your incoming players are going to gel straight away and your under-performing forwards / AMs are going to significantly improve their goals tally.

Fans of ANY other team would be lambasted and shot down if they were to suggest that their new players and current squad are ALL going to nearly double their tallies from the previous season.

Martial scored less in 16/17 (4) than in 15/16 (11). If anything he's gone backwards. He has never scored more than 11 goals in a season.

So the question again is where are the goals coming from?

Yeah, big CB's getting their nut on corners is a nice option to have when the forwards aren't firing. How's Bailly in that respect?
