Everton were also quick in the market because Steve Walsh had full season to do his work, the targets were identified long before the season finished and Everton went after them.
Everyone business has been very good with 3 more to come in. Liverpool are actually in a worse position going into this season than last because they have the CL to consider. That's one small squad they have and for me I'm surprised they've not brought in 5/6 players.
Spurs are always pretty slow in the market because of levy but the business they did for walker to city for £50m was superb. Trippier who is just as good will now slot straight in.
What people are also overlooking is the business we did in January. Schneiderlin is a top quality and lookman is a really exciting young prospect which leads me into our youth setup.
We have several really good exciting players coming into the first team squad this year fresh from being crowned the best best youth team in the country. Dowell in particular is the one im most excited about and obviously Time Davies broke on to the scene last year with some very impressive performances.
Will Everton finish higher than seventh? If we can improve our away from slightly then yes I think it's possible. Either way though the gap will certainly get smaller.
This is all part of a project leading up to when we kick off the 2021/22 season in the new stadium (ahh such a beautiful thought) to be in a position to challenge for the major honors.
Will it happen? Who knows but at least we finally have the ambitions to look that far up, the financial backing needed for it and a solid plan to try and get there. You can't knock that in any way shape or form.
Schneiderlin is that good he couldn't get into a poor Utd midfield with an ageing Carrick & Fellaini in front of him.
And as for Pickford and Keane walking into the Liverpool side, Mignolet look great in a struggling Sunderland side and actually helped keep them up. Keane is a mid table centre half at best.
You say Pickford and Keane would walk into Liverpool....
Pickford looked good at Sunderland. So did Mignolet. Diffefence is he actually kept them up
Keane looked good at Burnley. Well lovren looked good at Southampton, and was probably higher rated at the time than Keane is now. His reputation has lowered as he's gone up a level, Keane may well do the same. Look at Ashley Williams
Schneiderlin couldn't get into Utd's team. He's Everton level
Schneiderlin had looked great for us.
Mignolet couldn't even keep the spot ahead of the worful Karius for spells last year... He's garbage and you know it.
As for your defence... Your best CB has been exiled and Keane is way more solid that 50 yard pot shot Lovren. So yea two players who would stroll into your side.
Analogue I don't disagree. Every transfer is a risk... Some work out some don't even with the top players. One thing that does give me encouragement is that these are all Steve Walsh signings. You'd be hard pressed to find someone better at his job.
Time will tell but as a blue in very pleased with our business and with more to come this is like no other Everton summer I've witnessed in my 33 years alive.
Let us have this one
I won't remind you of our summer 2013 or Liverpool's summer 2014 in that case

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mignolet being dropped had absolutely nothing to do with performances because he did nothing wrong. Karius was expected to come in and be number 1 so when he was fit he was unfairly given it. He messed up and then Mignolet deservedly came back, and performed even better. So he is not garbage at all.
Pickford and Keane may well get into our squad, but not into our team.
Mignolet couldn't even keep the spot ahead of the worful Karius for spells last year... He's garbage and you know it
-----------------------
You won't get me arguing that he's good enough but he looked great for a struggling Sunderland just like Pickford. Now Pickford may turn out to be a good keeper but the simple fact is until you see how he does for you you don't know.
And considering our keeper and defence are so bad we still conceded less than you last season and I'd be confident that we'd concede less than you this season with only Robertson coming in.
That's football its up for debate. Neither of us are seeing them in training every day or picking the match sqauds so it's subjective bias on both our parts.
Either way I'm excited for the season to start and see how things pan out for us. Other clubs supporters are talking about us so we must be ruffling a few feathers. But there's no need for instant success this is part of a wider project leading to 2021/22.
The players we're bringing in are all highly talented and more importantly, their ages are all on the right side of our longer term plan.
Klassen will I think anyway be a nice surprise this year and will raise a few eyebrows, he looks really good quality and a sure composed head is exactly what we need in that position. Sandro was an absolute steal. Looked pretty average in the u21 tournament but from what I've seen in his limited pre season he looks like he will again improve us and that's the thing. Since koeman and Walsh have come in every signing has improved us. That's all we can ask for.
Our defence is appalling... That's why we're replacing it. Both Robles and stek are a disgrace to the goalkeeping fraternity and jagielka is finished, we're also after another CB to replace Mori due to his injury... I don't really rate him either.
And rightly you should be, I've never known Everton to spend like this but it'll make it that little bit sweeter when we do you in both Derbys and finish above you again.
Hahaha maybe. We shall see. I was going to do an article before about Liverpool but it wouldn't get passed the spam filter.
I thought klopp performed a masterstroke last year thinning the sqauds out for a completely domestic season. Apart from him underestimating the winter fixture schedule it was pretty perfect. I just feel you've missed a huge opportunity this summer. But with five weeks of the window left it can still fall into place.
Still got 5 weeks left yet and if we can end the window with
Salah
Robertson
Solanke
VVD?
Keita?
I'd be made up!
Solanke he's young but from what I've seen of him he should be frying chicken in KFC not playing football but hey we shall see.

Eh?
That would be a great transfer window for Liverpool overall although I'm certain that Robertson isn't good enough
Seems like Klopp thinks he's good enough, which is good enough for me.
Depends if you lose coutinho. That's a huge blow if you do. Salah is the only person who will contest a first team place and I think you need 4-6 of those with the added games. Your squad is too small in terms of quality. 15/16 really good players but beyond that there isn't much else. It'll be interesting to see.

The players signed will keep Everton 7th, anymore to come could tip the balance.
But chances of going up dep be in others losing their star players to better teams
