Milan are the only CL team in Italy that could do with Ronaldo, but they can’t afford him.

It’s annoying because I want him to leave, but part of me thinks it’s amazing that he’s being rejected left, right and centre.

I think his options now are to look at the Cl groups, think which club might seem close-ish to getting past the stage but could do with a striker upgrade. Haven’t checked the groups myself, but it would be hilarious if he wound up somewhere like Club Brugge.

The clubs that could maybe afford him don’t want him and the clubs that would want him can’t afford him.

I threw Ajax into the ring in the other thread, and unrealistic as it sounds, it might even be one of the more feasible options, even if it does seem to go against what their perceived business model is. It might be tempting for a club like them to go for this kind of profile-raising name, and they’re the kind of glamour/pedigree club that might appeal to Ronaldo.

Doubt it, apparently their new manager is really big on high pressing football as well.

I doubt he holds too much power there though, he’s a bit of a journeyman manager with no significant success and not really an Ajax man either. Unless he’s a really strong character, he might be more than willing to accept whatever the club imposes. The bigger problem might actually be Ronaldo thinking he’s a fackin’ nobody and demanding to be made player-manager.

And Ajax are a principled club when it comes to their football ethos. Ronaldo is the anthesis of that football club. They are the last club that would sign Ronaldo, even Barca would be more likely.
