Everton fans views on Barry -
'Would be melting Besic and McCarthy down and turning them into glue before selling Gareth Barry tbh'
@Gamble1878 Barry's definitely going to be one of those cases where more and more people talk about how good he was the longer he's been retired
@Gamble1878 Yeah he's quality
'Any WBA fans thinking Gareth Barry would be a bad signing, I made the same mistake when Everton signed him. Never been more wrong.Pure class. Still is'
Ronald Koeman on Gareth Barry: "He is a great professional and I'm happy if he stays, but if he wants to move, we will see what happens."
I love Gareth Barry me and I've got every ounce of respect for him. Hope he breaks Giggs' record cos he deserves it
Gareth Barry is too much of a gem to be playing for a Tony Pulis side < Lol
Gareth Barry appreciation tweet, one of the highest professionals I've ever seen in an Everton shirt, 36 year old and still a baller.
Gareth Barry will leave with EFC best wishes. Super player, now needs game time at his age.
Gareth Barry passing on his experience & knowledge to the talented prospects in Everton's youth is priceless. Hope he stays #efc

Gareth Barry to WBA. And he will take the record from Ryan Giggs. He is only 4 matches away from most matches played in Premier League.
Gareth Barry has been sound since day one at Everton. Cant knock him for wanting first team footy.
He's a steady Eddie, sometimes the game will pass him by and fans will start staying his time is up, and then he'll play a blinder. But generally he's a 7 out of 10 type of player.
I don't have a problem with us signing Barry but it strikes me as a bit of a sideways step.
The problem with Fletcher was his lack of athleticism. Barry has the same problem.
If Barry is a cheap option i'd sign him on a short term basis provided we plough our funds into players elsewhere.
With Fletcher gone he would do a brilliant job for WBA.
He's a far better passer than Fletcher, cox.
He will link play between back and front much better than Fletcher did.
As I said, if we get a young athletic box to box MF in as well....it's a good signing.

As unrealistic as it was, I guess this puts an end to the Carvalho rumours.
A left back and a striker/winger next please!

Gareth Barry is a class player.
When you see him live you realise his worth to a team.
I wish Barry all the best, he's been a proper pro for us, never whinged when dropped, and got on with his job when called upon. Barkley should take heed.

Barry has played 30+ Prem games in 18 of the last 19 seasons. He's finished in the top half in 14 of those, and in the top 6 in 10 of them.
In a team featuring Stekelenberg, Baines,Coleman, Jagielka, Williams, Schneiderlin, Bolasie,Lennon, Barkley and Lukaku, Gareth Barry was still voted their player of 2016.
He may be knocking on; he is still one great player and will certainly do a job for a year or two.
Coming around to Barry. Initial concern was the age but said for a while we have lacked a midfielder can just keep the ball and recycle possession.
Can't understand why so many are concerned with Field going out on loan though. The Championship won't suit his style at all so not sure what he is going to learn being kicked about in the Championship for a season. Think it would be more beneficial to stick around a learn from Barry who is a similar type of player.

Barry is a cracking player. Will be a loss on and off the field, but if we want to move up the table then we need someone more mobile-we have him in Schneiderlin.

Just don't think he's ready for our first team. Thought the game passed him by against B'mouth.
A year at Norwich get weekly football can only be beneficial to his progress in my opinion. Leko and Harper to.
