If he plays at least 30 games I'm confident that he'll get 10-15. Underrated.

What ever happened to your Welbeck bet D'jeezus?

Natural finisher....of his lunch. Bambi on ice in the penalty area.

No reason why he can't get 4 or 5 if he stays fit this season.

Was a draw, I paid GOSH but the Welbeck backers didn't pay up.

"That's 2 goals in 3.5 league games now."

So he went 2.5 games without scoring?

More or less. From the 45th minute in the first game to the 6th minute today. Of course none of our players scored against Stoke or Liverpool though (apart from Lacacazette's debatable goal given offside)

Welbz did scuff a chance or 2 in those games though.

But hey look on the bright side he could kick on from todays performance.👍

think the Welbz is underrated, a good run of games and he will score goals but I think eventually he will get injured.

So after being slaughtered in the last game, is he back to being quite good again?

I like Welbeck's work rate. He really harasses the defence, he takes on defenders and can create his own chances. He had a brilliant game today, easily the MOTM.

Why does Spurtle always seem to appear on Arsenal threads, foaming at the mouth?

What Welbeck has going for him is his physicality which helps him a lot.

Foaming at the mouth? Hardly.

He's not underrated. Most fans see him as he is, very good outside the box, terrible inside it. His second goal did surprise me though.

He doesn't get a consistent run of games because he doesn't score goals, not the other way round. It's not like managers don't want to give Welbeck a chance. Two of the PL's greatest managers have tried coaxing his goalscoring game out of him, to no effect. Not enough composure.

There's an element of that but it's been so long since he started more than 5 games in a row for us. Last season for example he scored at Anfield then had 4 starts in a row without scoring and got dropped. Then he came back in against United and scored.

The season before that the most he got was 5 starts in a row as well where he got 2 assists and a goal but then got dropped.

2 full seasons without more than 5 starts in a row! Most attacking players will struggle with that. His only consistent run for us was when we first signed him but that's 3 years ago now and we forget that he was only 23 when we signed him.
