silly really, the criticism that is, under 23 game for senior players is mainly about fitness/match sharpness, didn't watch the game and not actually heard any crisis myself but poor showing if there was a lot

He was pretty bad and awful for their 3rd I think it was where he simply didn't track back.
Like united_kaz said these games are mainly about match fitness however he looks a million miles away. I like shaw however I would lay money that our next signing will be a left back. Shaw seems to be going backwards and appears from the outside Jose has given up on him. Young is our lb for the season for me

Seems like a bit of a lost cause.

Probably Baz with multiple twitter accounts.

Was disappointing in that U23 match, he failed to assert his experience on the game such as:

When WH made it 3 he failed to chase down Edimilson Fernandes before he whipped in a cross to assist Martinez. He also failed to close down Powell in the area as the winger scored the 4th.

I think Shaw is done at United, nowhere near Mourinho's agenda, and will go in January,

Wasn't he fit (or injury free) and available for selection almost a month ago?

If he's still lacking sharpness despite training and playing U23 games, surely he's not putting in the required graft and pushing himself to be selected?

I don't doubt he'll be a very good PL left back wherever he ends up, but I really don't think he has the characteristics Jose wants from his players.

All of this is based on the stuff I've read though, so it's possibly bollox.

Needs to show he wants it. He's undoubtedly the best left back at the club and the fact he isn't getting a look in says a lot about him.

I think we need to call this one a mistake and move on. If there are no takers (which wouldn't be a surprise considering his wage) maybe loan him out and see if he can regain some sort of form and confidence.

Apparently he is overweight and put little effort into the game. I think that the lad is a bit dense.

He does look a bit dumb but can never judge someone by the way they look.

He broke his leg like 2 years ago now though, does he keep picking up injuries or is he just lazy?

He keeps on picking up new injuries to be fair to the lad. The problem for me is that he knows he struggles to keep his fitness. LVG has highlighted it, so did Hodgson and so has Jose. So he knows he needs to give everything to get match fit, yet strolls around for the U23s? He must be dumb. Factor in that Jose has to tell him exactly what to do from the sidelines and....

His injuries since the lefg break:

Fitness 2017 August 21st
Lisfranc Joint Injury 2017 April 30th
Groin Strain 2016 November 30th
Leg Injury 2016 November 3rd
Illness 2016 September 28th
Groin Strain 2016 September 18th
Hamstring Injury 2016 September 10th
Muscle Fatigue 2016 September 2nd
Broken Leg 2015 September 15th

Sell him to Tottenham as I am sure Pochettino will be more than happy to have him.

It will be Rose to United and Shaw the other way (plus a huge wedge) come January

posted on 16/10/17

Really not keen on signing Rose to be honest.

To be fair, he's not even that good.

At least Chelsea were able to actually play Bridge.

We'd be better off promoting Irwin from club representative and seasonal legends matches to the first team than relying on Shaw being arssed enough to get fit.

I hope for his sake he can have a decent career somewhere.

30m quid was a shtload of money when we paid it for him all those years ago. It still is to be honest. Like I said at a time, it was too much of a punt for someone who had done the square root of fk all at this level.

Some were already calling him the next Bale, etc.

We put too much pressure on young players and destroy them. Same with wheelchair and is happening now with Alli.

Let them grow up and do something worthwhile before hyping them up to the nth degree.

I remember the, he made the team of the year crap and other statements about people seeing him turn up for Southampton and everyone else.

Like I said at the time, if we had given Bayern 30m then for Alaba, they would have been tempted. Now we have to go out and get another one as it appears Jose does not trust Blind or Darmian there.

Another colossal waste of money from some of the clowns running the club.

We've formed some kind unholy alliance since those days; forced together by circumstance and shared enemies. Nothing more, nothing less.
