So tribalism is fine for our politicians, but not for the rest of us..

Sat Nav has double standards. That much should be obvious to everyone.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You've just said it's OK for MPs to be tribal but not voters.

When I said that the MP himself was guilty of tribalism after you said people should be tribal, you replied with the top comment in this thread.
So yes, you have implied that it is OK for MPs and not voters.

I understand the point he's making in relation to brand new MPs, but it's not exactly the smartest thing to say, especially the timing giving UC uplift just ended.
I have no doubt it can be a challenge for a new MP, but I struggle to have much sympathy for someone on £82,000 a year when very large swathes of the population aren't even on half of that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just to be clear and to avoid conflation;
What you think is a challenge for a new MP is the nature of the role? The having to deal with constituents, sit long hours in the HoC and generally be an active politician? As opposed to thinking living on a salary of £82k with an expense policy that would make even the most fun of fund managers balk is challenging?
This is one of those areas where I have some quite entertaining first hand knowledge but trying to decide whether I share as don’t want the politician identified as they’re very much still in the public eye and are a pal of mine.

Notice that Sat Nav completely ignored the point about Peter Bottomley abstaining from the vote to reduce universal credit by £20 this month, so therefore being hypocritical by now saying its the wrong thing to do.
He spent so long defending him, that it became 'deflect, deflect, deflect'.

If you look at Peter Bottomley's voting record (I have as he was my MP for 5 years), he always votes with the Tory party line or abstains. He never votes against his party.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems fairly tribal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that's OK according to Sat Nav.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just to be clear and to avoid conflation;

This is where we find out that Sat Nav isn't a voter, so it's OK.
