A frustrating (and at times incoherent) speech from Frost today.
https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/lord-frost-speech-observations-on-the-present-state-of-the-nation-12-october-2021
On one had acknowledges the UK and EU are now competitors with different viewpoints. And on the other complains about the EU looking out for it's own competitive advantages.
Then complains about perceived injustices that the UK has been refused access to EU programmes such as Galileo. And the "fractious relationship"
I wonder what could have caused this...
Such a shame this charlatan is in such an important position as he's shown no interest for the people of NI.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you reckon in spite of Frost, the EU will alter the protocol much this week, to enable better GB-NI trade and movement of goods?
Thems the rumours.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
From what I can gather many of the alterations are to be welcomed. But there's still going to be a border with border control posts etc.
And given how some unionists have whipped up tensions surrounding the NIP, it remains to be seen if any alterations, no matter how wide ranging they are will be palatable.
Frost however is essentially claiming the NIP is dead and it breaks the GFA. A choice the UKgov and he chose...To sacrifice NI in the name of a perceived sovereignty.
This was his statement in December 2020 after the TCA was agreed.

Only 2% vaccinated in Africa...for shame.
Did uno, more people have died from Covid under Biden this year, than in 2020, even with the vaccine?
To make matters worse, Greta has a pop at Joe on climate change... as fossil fuel use increases, for instance.
Border crisis, kids in cages, Afghan shambles, rising crime and inflation.....aye, bit Trump.
Hungary fans fight cops after those fans racially abuse Wembley stewards....

Cheers man.
CNN reporting fall in American support for Biden with Cali and NY, as approval ratings are in the 30's, with 40's across the States.
Pandemic is still rife, poor economic recovery, dems arguing about Biden infrastructure legislation and stalling the budget, and shambles at the border and in foreign policy...if CNN are wobbling?
Their news team panel kept naming Trump and even hoped he would enter Dem v Rep Virginia fight, in order to deflect off Biden and Dems problems.

Read the tweets there too.
Bit of a one way street, let us say, haha.
Blackfishing...learned a new word today, as Jesy Nelson, once of Little Mix, is accused of pretending to be black or mixed race, in her latest video.
Rita Ora received similar grief for allegedly indulging in this new form of cultural appropriation....
Jesy Nelson says she tans easily and has naturally curly hair, while growing up with R&B, Rap etc, hence her video look and style.
Music and culture are fluid and not race based, so when Jimi Hendrix played loud guitar, i never thought he was pretending to be white....his colour was not relevant, yet 50 years later, we are regressing and obsessing about race?
Modern life is silly.

I'm sure there are some on here that could explain why it's so objectionable that it makes the blood boil.

BREAKING: Matt Hancock appointed UN special envoy to help Covid recovery in Africa...
On the day the UK Government was found to have presided over “one of the worst public health failures in UK history”

🚨 | NEW: Boris Johnson is backing a multimillion-pound bailout of industries struggling with high gas prices
Via @thetimes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course he wants to save big business. What about the people? Where's the bailout? Oh wait, they're increasing taxes for the regular folk instead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The bailout was called furlough ffs. Are you kidding?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Furlough also bailed out big business ffs. I'm not kidding. Furlough isn't really a bail out and if it is it bailed out employees and employers too. Furlough saved big businesses backside and they needed furlough to happen as much as anyone else.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It helped both as you know

If accurate looks like the EU has bent over backwards to accommodate businesses here, (and mainland importers).

Imagine getting so upset about an opposing team taking the knee for 10-15 seconds it inspires you to violence.
I'm sure there are some on here that could explain why it's so objectionable that it makes the blood boil.
