Thing is calling them stupid and racist isn’t working, in fact it’s likely making it worse.
We need to educate on the fact that
A) The difference between immigration, illegal immigration and asylum seekers.
B) Asylum seekers are absolutely zero problem and we actually take less than most.
C) That this country actually NEEDS immigration. This is not opinion, this is a demonstrable fact and it frustrates me that people don’t know this.

This is my experience with people I know that fall for this bullshiiiiiit.
They just don’t really care and are more interested in directing their hate at the vulnerable than acknowledging that lying cuuuuunts like Farage are actively working against their interests.
It’s frustrating and depressing trying to educate people this thick and hateful.

There was very little more disheartening than seeing two neighbours along my road having Reform placards up in last year's GE. Genuinely saddened me to see it.
They live among us and you don't always know. Btw where I live it's about 95% white and you'd be hard pressed to find any brown person who isn't well paid, middle-class and well to do.

Yeah but I also think we need to take a more holistic approach and try and educate, rather than alienate.
So let’s take Clapfree, this is someone who doubtless agrees that there is an invasion. Why does he feel like that? That’s what we need to address and educate on.
These people are vulnerable, but also unhappy. We need to help them, and that will in turn help us.
I mean simple facts around the R-rate in this country are never discussed, why? Why don’t these people get given the facts around the VAST financial benefits of immigration?
It’s quite amazing to me that people don’t know the difference between asylum and immigration, or even illegal immigration and migration and part of that is the language used by our media. The problem is you're fighting against a tidal wave of disinformation perpuated by organisations and individuals with a vested interest to sell these lies.
These are the very same ppl who are largely responsible for most of the challenges and financial difficulties the dieffected and disillusioned are experiencing and feeling.
On top of that you have no one, not even in a Labour government promoting the facts or the benefits of immigration.
It's no wonder ppl are being convinced by the lies.
I've always thought the biggest problem in this country is that people would rather see something taken away from someone else, than improve their own lot.
This is why policies to take away benefits or make things worse for a particular group are always popular amongst the lower educated. The thinking is never positive about how can they vote to get improvements to the public services they use, it is always to take away something that someone else will get that they don't.
Its unlikely this will ever change in the short term either, as it is always much easier to rage bait these people than it is to sell something positive.
I think a large part of it is people simply want simple solutions to complex problems.
Problem: Illegal immigration is too high.
Solution A: We must look into the route causes of illegal immigration, offer legal routes, disrupt the criminal people smugglers, make deals with other countries. A long process that will take time to implement.
Solution B: Deport them all.
Doesn't matter that solution B has no actual details and is likely unworkable, it's straightforward and to the point.

We need to educate on the fact that
A) The difference between immigration, illegal immigration and asylum seekers.
B) Asylum seekers are absolutely zero problem and we actually take less than most.
C) That this country actually NEEDS immigration. This is not opinion, this is a demonstrable fact and it frustrates me that people don’t know this.
D) The benefits of immigration are actually HUGE.
Farage doesn’t use accurate numbers and data for a reason, and that’s because his rhetoric doesn’t even remotely stand up to even mild scrutiny.
There are an increasing number of people I personally know that are being duped and manipulated by his lies, and that makes me sad.

So let’s take Clapfree, this is someone who doubtless agrees that there is an invasion. Why does he feel like that? That’s what we need to address and educate on.
These people are vulnerable, but also unhappy. We need to help them, and that will in turn help us.
I mean simple facts around the R-rate in this country are never discussed, why? Why don’t these people get given the facts around the VAST financial benefits of immigration?
It’s quite amazing to me that people don’t know the difference between asylum and immigration, or even illegal immigration and migration and part of that is the language used by our media. Again, I feel that should be illegal. Stuff like calling them ‘Migrant hotels’ is so disingenuous and it needs to be stopped.

The problem is you're fighting against a tidal wave of disinformation perpuated by organisations and individuals with a vested interest to sell these lies.
These are the very same ppl who are largely responsible for most of the challenges and financial difficulties the dieffected and disillusioned are experiencing and feeling.
On top of that you have no one, not even in a Labour government promoting the facts or the benefits of immigration.
It's no wonder ppl are being convinced by the lies.

I've always thought the biggest problem in this country is that people would rather see something taken away from someone else, than improve their own lot.
This is why policies to take away benefits or make things worse for a particular group are always popular amongst the lower educated. The thinking is never positive about how can they vote to get improvements to the public services they use, it is always to take away something that someone else will get that they don't.
Its unlikely this will ever change in the short term either, as it is always much easier to rage bait these people than it is to sell something positive.

I think a large part of it is people simply want simple solutions to complex problems.
Problem: Illegal immigration is too high.
Solution A: We must look into the route causes of illegal immigration, offer legal routes, disrupt the criminal people smugglers, make deals with other countries. A long process that will take time to implement.
Solution B: Deport them all.
Doesn't matter that solution B has no actual details and is likely unworkable, it's straightforward and to the point.
