Beware January: we had 'got this' on numerous occasions previously, including under Schteve and Wee Billy, and a disastrous January of tinkering threw spanners in the works.

Just ease Keogh out and promotion is guaranteed.

Everyone is raving about Winnalls 2nd goal at Ipswich. I enjoyed his 1st goal more as it put us ahead.

Cheers Heb and to you & yours, J2O's is a soft drink, but does make you hyper, especially if you go mad and add half a pint of Lemonade...

Heb, the way we play is far less vulnerable to setback compared to McLaren’s team when players needed to be at 8 or 9/10 level for all the one-touch stuff to work. When it didn’t we got caught out. Our football now is more organised and lower-risk so we don’t even need to play that well to win. We will lose occasionally but there is no chance we will fold. No chance.

Indeed, am reassured. Unlike me to not be insanely optimistic - just a "what can possibly go wrong" moment.

Heb... is there an inevitable set back? We will lose games of course but that's normal. I can see us going strong over the next 2 months and building up a buffer so that by the end of February we will be able to absorb anything thrown at us.

Was the Winnall/Butterfield swap season long? I would hate it to end now but I suspect Wednesday supporters would be of a different opinion.

Spart... yes it is. They have option to buy Butters. We dont have option on Winnall

Before their manager got sacked he was moaning about the lack of games Winnall was playing but he’s at Swansea now.

what ever happened to the managers who took Butterfield and Christie from us

Winnall is best when playing in East Anglia for some reason. No Premier league clubs in East Anglia.

Nice one Fridge. I suspect the speed of his appointment just might have been down to some preparation work from his agent.

Will be driving down the M1 shortly with the Sheff Utd fans so have the car suitably decorated to show the colours.

Not too concerned about windows and stuff then, Spart?

Sat Nav Cat

It doesn't happen now except at a few clubs Cat. Most of the knuckle draggers can't afford to go to a match unless they can do an off license the night before.

Never use a Sat Nav Heb. I have a brain that can follow and remember routes. A bit old fashioned I know but it doesn't tell me the wrong way.

Funny, after the match at Hull we walked back to the train station along with the Hull fans wearing Derby hats and scarves and never thought twice about it. I don’t think it’s down to my imposing physical presence either. In the 80’s I went to places and was in fear of my life. At Newcastle and Birmingham I witnessed some terrible stuff around the ground.

Rowett mentioned in passing about how Winnall has knocked on his door a few times complaining about lack of football. I think it shows Rowett’s confidence that he doesn’t mind revealing it and also that he has still largely kept with Vydra and Nugent. I think he is very honest with the players. He probably told Winnall that he would not drop the other two unless they underperformed but that he would get his chance. The attitude of the fringe players has been great. I heard that McLaren never used to talk to the players much by contrast. I’m sure Rowett commands the respect of the squad which is yet another attribute.

Anyhow, off I go to Derby. See you late all.

I'm not around for a day and there's a thousand comments on the match thread. When I'm around, everybody boggers off.
I'm starting to take it personally !

Enjoyed the morning's discussion, btw

Considering entering phase 3 of the annual detox - hair of the dog, after brisk walk and masses of coffee failed miserably.
