If he has done his homework he will already know. They’re obvious flaws.

Oh well, think Villa were just a bit too well organised for forest today

Never liooked like scoring, totally toothless up front. Defensively other than the customary error, we didn’t look bad, unfortunately we can’t keep conceding the first goal, Sky showed a stat, we have now collected one single point from the last 18 games where we have trailed at half time, what a shocking stat. Hopefully Aitor can get rid of some of the rubbish we have signed atm, and get a bit of quality in, one worrying thing from today’s game, 10 mins to go, we desperately need a goal and he brings on Ward and Bridcutt, very odd.

Back to reality!

We are rather poor in a few areas. Hope we can get a few bodies in, but who will take the ‘surplus stock’ we have?

AK certainly got his work cut out.

Forest were awful. Your next few games are crucial because if you get sucked in I doubt you have any characters to pull you out. Shouldn’t happen because of the bit of a cushion you have but stranger things have happened.

Relying on the cushion and inept performances of others.

You are spot on, we are short on character.

We need a Leadbitter, but can Karanka persuade him to come?

I think we have enough quality especially when Murphy is fit, not to get sucked into the bottom 5.

We have a good young squad it just needs some additional quality and steel.

Yeah Murphy is badly missed. Brereton may develop but he is nowhere near the finished article. Centre back and centre midfield weak though. I would say Derby don’t have vastly better individual quality than Forest, at least not in terms of what you might call skill, but our spine is unbelievably strong. Rowett got the foundations right, then he built the structure, now we are starting to put the gloss on top. Forest seem to have tried to do it the other way round.

Terrible second half performance. I mean absolutely terrible. The goal was awful defending from Mills, Mancienne and Smith. But for some reason I’m not too worried because I have faith the manager will sort this out. Need some reinforcements though

Now we know why Villa don't concede many goals doh!

Even with Murphy we aren’t exactly flush with goals, I believe Dowell is our op scorer with 9, says a lot about our strike force. We definitely lack a vocal leader along with an organiser, Villa weren’t any better than us, but they were very well organised and excellent at slowing the game Down. We are very naive, only to be expected with young players, but that is where experienced pro’s are supposed to step in, that is not happening. Add a bit of seasoned professionalism to our ranks and we will probably survive, without it we will end up in a relegation battle again.

4 players minimum. GK/CB/CM/CF.

Asking a lot, but we are crying out for attention in these areas.

Of the 4 listed above GKis the least necessary, CF possibly the most needed, nothing against our youngsters they just need a bit more experience under less pressure. CD is not so much of a problem when Joe is back, I think MM reads the game pretty well, the CM is a problem as we lack creativity, Vaughan and Bridcutt are both holding players, and unfortunately Clough seems off the pace. Fingers crossed AK can pull in a few favours before the end of the month.

Villa should be top of the league with the amount they’ve spent and their squad. They must have close to 200 caps across their back 4! They have some very good players in Hourahine, Snodgrass etc. But there’s no reason why we were so toothless

posted on 13/1/18

Villa should walk this league. They are massively under-achieving with the players they have. It’s no disgrace to lose but Forest were not competitive today and could have been embarrassed. I suppose the positive is that Karanka will know what the problem areas are if he didnt before.

I have a feeling Forest will be playing Villa again next season in this league. They should be looking to blow teams in Forest’s position away.
