Also Hearts and Minds, Little Dieter Needs to Fly...
I have to admit part of my ranking is because I don't rate Oliver Stone's movies - Salvador is decent and I like the first half of Nixon, that's about it.

Not for me. Apocalypse is a great movie but has its faults, full metal pretty good, but not a patch on platoon. Haven’t watched the deer hunter for a long time, but wasn’t all that impressed if I recall.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople 8/10
Great script, top performances, very funny.
Just to add to the War film debate. Platoon 8.5 for me. Love that film.
But gotta give a honourable shout out to Hamburger Hill. Haven’t seen it years mind, but man, that was intense.

Yeah all 4 are great films (though I must rewatch deer hunter). Apocalypse verges on masterpiece at times, but I still prefer platoon, the nod to the infamous massacre (shameful episode for the USA) is powerful. Full metal is funny in that unless I’m mistaken it was entirely shot in England as the director feared flying, so they did an impressive job turning England into Vietnam in that movie.
The first part of Full Metal Jacket is a 9/10, the second part, 6.
I liked Casualties Of War. an 8/10 for me!

I'm not a fan of Vaughan but he was decent in Hacksaw Ridge. Goes to show he can do more than just silly comedy roles.
Don't Look Up - 6/10. Nice idea, but too long and could have been funnier.
