PL centre backs have to be defenders first, and he lacks there. He'll be sold after he still doesn't show up next season. TBH, I thought he was an impressive player, but now I'm thinking once again, I just really don't know sh*t about football sometimes. I'm just glad we didn't go in for him.

Got to hand it to Klipperty. It shows how good a manager he really is when he can see a flaw in his football and easily iron it out.

How better than to keep losing finals than just make sure you don't get in any.

Tbf you can sort of see his point. At Saints, Celtic and even his first six months at Liverpool he wasn't close to being as good as he turned out last season. His rise has been extraordinary.

He was great the first six months with us. We didn't play as well as a team defensively which meant we conceded goals but he still only made one real error in those first six months.

He was great agreed but he wasn't the collosous he's turned into this season.

I remember him having a few poor games in those six months (Giroud off all people had the beating of him when we faced you that game he scored the winner). I'm not saying he wasn't very good but if someone said he'd wind up favourite for the Balon Dor 12 month's later I think even GB would have laughed and recommended sectioning

Just because he wasn't as good at Celtic and Southampton as he's turned doesn't mean he wasn't good at Celtic and Sunderland. We signed him for a reason.
