I would say Can is a big blow for us. He is our big game player.
Not too fussed about Gomez as I reckon TAA will do just fine.
I would have played Matip over Lovren but have been as poor as each other this season.

With Salah trying to force a move to us as well today this doesn't seem like the best preparation for europe
Klavan injured now too apparently so we only have two fit centre backs. Hopefully Can is back ASAP as he'll be needed as cover.
Apart from Can, not one of those is a nailed on starter. Liverpool will definitely give City a game over the 2 legs. Literally, the only reason I make City as favourites is because the 2nd leg is at City.

Be interesting to see what Klopp does actually. If Chelsea win their game in hand they're 7 points behind Liverpool, and 'pool have to go to Stamford Bridge. So, while top 4 looks pretty likely for Liverpool it's not over til it's over. Balancing these 2 huge CL games with PL matches - notably a Mersey Derby, is a challenge. Any sort of slip up in the league and Chelsea may feel they've still got a chance. Big few weeks for Klopp.

Realistically we only need a 3 point gap going into the Chelsea game unless they somehow overturn a +17 goal difference, meaning we'd just need to beat Brighton at home last game of the season even if we lost to Chelsea. They have to be near perfect to stand any sort of chance which will be a tough ask given they've picked up just 11 points from the last 10 games.
They're utter caants though TWX. They do those sort of annoying things like go on mad record breaking winning runs meaning you're chasing shadows, or winning the CL in Munich against Munich when you finish 4th. Utter utter caants.
