4-1 Forest. Brereton 2, Lolley 1, Cash 1.

Not sure what's worse our strikers, or no strikers.

Love it that a Derby fan rates the article before a Forest fan! 🤣🤣🤣

This game is perfect for us. Their manager has just walked out on them (even though he was due to leave in a few weeks). How must that make their players feel? Especially those whose contracts are about to end. Will they be motivated? As soon as we score they could fold.

It is time to open the floodgates.

There were positives in Tuesday nights game. I think if we had won two - nil Brentford wouldn't have complained.

AK has suggested that Cash will start and we will revert to 4-2-3-1. Although it was difficult to say exactly what the formation was on Tuesday. I'd prefer 3-5-2 or even an out and out 4-3-3. But as someone once said formations don't win matches.

3-0 to the Garibaldi.

The sun has got his hat on and the Reds are going to play! 🌳

I can’t take all this vitamin D! I’m burning.

Ipswich fans seem quite pleased that Mick has gone early. Their optimism could rub off on the Tractor Boys and it could be a tricky afternoon for the Reds. Or, as you say, the players could be disheartened and long for the season to end and be easy pickings.

Forest have a decent record at home v Ipswich so I’ll go for a 2-0 win for the Reds with Cash and Lolley scoring. I think it is imperative that the Reds start Cash as he seems to have the oomph to get the team playing.

Never has the first goal in a game been more important, Ipswich as a team are likely to have the freedom to play, the easiest team talk in the world, ‘go out and enjoy yourselves’. If Forest get on top early doors I don’t see us having a problem, but the longer the game goes the grater the Ipswich threat.

Yes, Forest will want an early lead as the crowd are likely to become restless quickly if things don’t go their way after the recent run. Ipswich will be aware of that, I just hope they aren’t sufficiently motivated enough to do anything about it!

Of the ex-Forest players in the Tractor Boys squad, only Chambers will face the Reds. Garner has a small fracture of the skull. Hope he gets well soon. Not the most delicate of strikers but I always appreciated his efforts in the Forest side. He was doing fairly well until Davies tried to play him wide right.

McGoldrick is our injured too and appears to have run out of steam in an Ipswich shirt of late after a cracking start to life at Portman Road. A major reason why Ipswich aren’t higher up the table as they would have suffered without him.

McGoldrick always surprised me how well he did at Ipswich. He always looked out of sorts here for some reason. Maybe as a local boy he was trying too hard at his hometown team. Apparently one of those players who looked mint in training but couldn’t transfer it into the CG pitch.

Carayol will surely want to prove a point to AK

posted on 14/4/18

Ah, forgot about him! Not heard much of him since he went apart from scoring at PNE ages ago.

He set up the goal in midweek that beat Barnsley, still a bit part player, but unplayable on his day, fortunately he doesn’t have many of those, a bit like McKay really.

Yes, very much two peas in a pod!

Carayol will want to stick it up Karanka after being bombed out of two clubs by him.

Let's hope he doesn't have a blinder this afternoon then!

I have a good feeling about today, completely unfounded since we haven’t scored since the turn of the century, but it’s sunny and vs ipswitch.

Could be the second year in a row we secured league status, at home vs ipswitch

Nottingham Forest’s starting XI is unchanged... Dowell comes in for McKay on the bench.

Forest: Pantilimon; Darikwa, Figeuiredo, Fox, Osborn; Watson, Guedioura, Colback; Lolley, Brereton, Tomlin. Subs: Kapino, Lichaj, Mancienne, Bridcutt, Cash, Dowell, Vellios.

Luke Chambers has just been talking to Radio Nottm so isn't in the Ipswich squad.

Chambers is going to get a coaching role at Ipswich judging by the news this week. Didn’t think he was a doubt but he isn’t in the 18.

Carayol gets a chance to judge whether the away dugout is more comfortable than the home one at the CG.

Waghorn upfront for Ipswich. Scored in the 4-2 defeat at their place earlier in the season. One of those steady championship strikers who is nothing special but sometimes has a blinder. Hopefully not this afternoon...

Let’s hope the afternoon sun helps the Forest spring to life.

Would have liked him to get more a chance with us, he had his moments

He had a few opportunities but never seized them. I can’t blame Karanka for getting rid. For every wonder run and shot here were a plethora of nothing performances which means a manager is never going to place his trust in you.
