Talking absolute bollox again I see Ted
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And what exactly is the Bollox of which I talk?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Suggesting we could sign Ousmane Dembele

----------------------------------------------------------------------
ManU would. They signed Pogba.
I said Levy wouldn't even try.
But we COULD if we had a mind to.
Its the Tottenham management mindset .... eternal 4th spot competitors ...until all us fans die off.
Maybe the next generation of fans will be more demanding!

Oh yes, and while we're on the subject of bollox and tottenham and Pochettino's staying or not, and the Dembele question - as if we didn't already have enough with the Alderweireld pay demand issue and where he lands up playing next, let me just remind everyone ......
Brighton beat ManU today!
Something WE failed to do recently.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but we drew with Brighton didn't we so that's not so bad is it?

You just don't know your footballers do you?
The two Dembeles are following quite similar development paths.
Ousmane Dembélé is current listed as a striker but can play several attacking roles.
And Moussa Dembele started out also as a striker ..
"Moussa Dembélé (born 12 July 1996) is a French professional footballer who plays as a striker for Celtic." - from his career record. Check it yourself, if you can.
Also we have a manager who's strength is developing the best qualities of his footballers.

The point is ... we lost an FA tin pot semi to ManU.
And THEN... Brighton goes and beats them.
When if we were performing as we should be, its US that should be in the Tin Pot final!
Clear?

We could of signed Ousmane Dembele but we said no and he signed for Dortmund a season later, shame as he was seen in a live video with Aubameyang wearing a Tottenham shirt.

Our Dembele is most likely out the door this summer, he’s made remarks himself, we haven’t moved with a contract offer, can barely play a full game and plays half the games in a season.

If we can get good money from China for him then brilliant or use him to get Savic from Lazio.

For me, Dembele is the epitome of the Tottenham recruitment problems, and similar to the Ledley king situation.

On his day, a top class player, but you can’t expect hi, to play much more than half a season taking into account injuries and his need to be nursed during games and brought off before the end.

So we get stuck with, do we replace (can’t afford anyone of equal calibre on our wages), do we buy someone of equal calibre to give competition and eventually replace him when it’s time to step down (something the other top 6 teams would do but again, our finances would never justify), or do we try and persevere with a player who is only fit half the time and then eventually replace the, for an inferior model (the Tottenham way, sadly).

I wouldn’t head worried if I had any faith in our scouting network, but they seem incapable of finding anyone that doesn’t come with a big rep (so other top 6 would pay him more) or crap from the French and Dutch leagues (a slight exaggeration I know as we’ve had a couple of good finds like Dier and dele but they are rare).

I quite like Mawson and am pleased if we're being linked. He can be good on the ball and taking it up field from defence. Could even be moulded into a DM maybe. And he's young.

I'd be interested to know how much of it on Bertrand and how much on Mawson.

It's sort of where we are with the market though. Everyone has doubled in price from a few seasons ago.
