Which crisp company is he working for?

I've lost a lot of respect for Buffon. It was a clear penalty and his reaction at the time and since then has been absolutely pathetic. Slagging off the referee for ruining a teams dream, why not take it out on 2 of your colleagues for poor defending at a crucial time?

While i understand his initial anger during the game when he saw the replay he should have manned up and accepted that it was a pen and apologised

My favourite part is where he insinuates you can't follow the laws of the game due to it being the 93rd minute and his team has come back from 0-3 down.

.................

Utter madness.

This is the really daft bit.

He did, funnily enough, and the correct one.

Club bias is a strange thing, people become so blind to the truth.

I think buffon should be a bit more polite to the crisp munching proles sat in the stands who provide the motivation for big finance to get involved in the game

Wasn't a penalty for me. A desperate dive.

Obviously I will stick by my comment on that thread.

Anyone who thinks this wasn't a penalty suffers from some of the following, or in Stretty's case probably all of them.

1. Being vision impaired.
2. Not understanding the laws of the game.
3. Having never played the game before.
4. A hatred of Real Madrid.
5. Idiocy.

He's gone from that passionate, loveable giant of European football who everyone loves, to being a bit of tossser. Shame.

I watched the game in the pub and everybody was in agreement that it wasn't a penalty but a dive out of desperation which got rewarded. We were all drunk, ill have a look at it now whilst I'm sober.

Yep, still think it wasn't a penalty and a dive.

He was pushed. Maybe not even enough to send him down. But enough to make it a foul. Therefore it's a penalty. Not even 1% of a doubt.

........................

Not only was he pushed he also got a high boot in the ribs for good measure.

IMO what made it worse for the defender was that the Madrid player was setting himself to head it and had stooped lower than normal which explains why he ended up on the deck. You can not go through a player to try to win the ball.

For it not to be a penalty, there would have to be no contact.

Anyone saying there was no contact after watching the replays of it is a lying sack of $hit, I am afraid.

I have only come across three posters who think it wasn't a penalty.

Stretty, Winston and TOOR.

Well done to the ref who had the balls and courage to make the decision given the circumstances..

I's sure he has seen the highlight or analysis of the game since he made the remark, but i do not recall if there was an apology?

Buffon chats Shiiite. Where were the Italian hearts when Materazzi got Zidane sent off. I hope Zidane had a little laugh at Buffon in the Bernabeu.
