I think that given the pinnacle is Champions League, unless the cup comes with CL (Europa), the team who secure the CL have had the better season.
Spurs - just for the money they will generate. Chelsea have won honours though.
What's more important?
To the players - the trophy - they have the medals when they retire.
To the club - the money from the CL.
FA Cup. All day long. only good thing about being in the champs league is the money. Its a horrible competition that is set up to help the largest clubs in Europe.
Great for our shareholders, but for me as an old school fan, I want to actually win something.

The way I look at it is a few years down the line no one remembers who finished 3rd or 4th in what season and what their CL run was the next season, but most football fans will remember who won the FA cup
Take 2008 for example. I remember clearly Portsmouth won the FA cup but I can't remember who finished 3rd or 4th or their CL run the following season
Obviously in an ideal world you get top 4 and a cup, but for me FA Cup > Top 4

Arsenal made more money from the Europa than United made from the CL this season, or Spurs made from it last season....
It really isn't that significant a difference.
The Premier league and CL campaigns are bread and butter for the top clubs. Personally, I think the fans want their team to win silvareware, and it's days like the FA cup finals day in Wembley that fans look forward to most in a season.
Irony is that most Chelsea fans would rather the CL and Spurs fans the FA Cup I think.

Chelsea have had the better season because they’ve won silverware and spurs haven’t.
Spurs have given themselves a better chance of progression though.

Finishing top 4 is a good feeling but it's more like a stepping stone kind of feeling, not an achievement in itself. You use CL football as a way to sign good players and move the football club forward as well as make money, it's not an achievement in itself.
With a trophy, you've actually won something, and it will always been part of the history of the club. Great feeling
