100% I'd rather try Wilson than put Shaqiri on a four year deal or something.

And what if he doesn't want to leave?

I don't really understand anyone complaining about his supposed attitude or laziness. You think klopp and the scouts haven't looked at that? They obviously don't deem it to be a problem.
He's a decent back up option who can produce moments of magic and provides much needed winger depth. Put it this way, when Salah went off injured in the CL final, would you rather have brought on lallana to play left wing like we ended up doing, or brought on shaqiri in a like for like swap?
I am surprised with a lot of the reaction to this. I remember some similar comments when we signed Ox last summer after he played against us for arsenal but look how much Klopp has added to his game. He obviously thinks he can do something similar for Shaqiri

He's not a player I would have considered for us, he's obviously a good technical player and has good set piece delivery too, but like many have said I'd question his work rate.
But no way Klopp signs a player and allows him be lazy, Klopp will get out of him what he needs.

We had Ings and Solanke as our attacking bench options last season and nearly everytime when they came on they did fek all. Now we might have Shaqiri which makes us stronger.
Yeah I know why they're here, that's kind of my point.
If we sign him he'll be on £80k or something and yeah West Ham may come in for him but buying a player with a solid exit plan whilst holding back our youth doesn't seem a great plan to me.
People keep talking about cover for Mane and Salah too - I dont think he'll be playing wide.

This is my ray of hope. I was absolutely a skeptic when we signed Ox but he showed his worth, increasingly so as the season went on.
Shaqiri is a more talented player than Ox (imo) but again I have questions over team fit. I’m not sure where the idea that he’s a pacey winger has come from. From what I’ve seen he’s never been quick, even at Basel. He beats players with bits of skills and quick feet. Certainly doesn’t have the pace of a Mane or Salah, although few do in fairness.
The attitude issues I’m not sure about. They were raised at Bayern and he was pretty swiftly dumped by Pep but he was a young player then, maybe he’ll have learnt. The criticisms of his Stoke colleagues were not necessary but also probably true!
Work rate is my real concern. Whenever I’ve seen him he seems to stroll about and that’s just not our team dna at the moment.
Basically I’m not against the signing because I think he’s a real talent. But that talent didn’t flourish at Bayern or Inter. So it comes down to whether I believe Klopp can unlock the talent and get regular performances out of him. Which comes back to Ox, if he can do it with Ox then why not Shaqiri?

Good player, decent price, why not.
It's not that he's fat he just has a weird body shape, like a keg with arms and legs
