I am nowhere near as passionate about football as I used to be. I often question myself as to why that is. I think that it is perhaps partly down to the dross we have been served up in recent years - ultimately I just want to enjoy watching the game. However, I think that the main reason that I am not as passionate is just part of growing up and priorities changing. Once you have kids your life changes completely and we often plan our weekends around doing activities with them. As a result I don't watch every United match as I would have in the past and my visits to OT are fewer as I just don't have the time or as much disposable income.

Passion isn't just enjoying the wins. It's about hurting when we lose.
52 and VC are older chaps and both claim to have family around them and yet they spend hours and hours on here talking mostly about United. It therefore isnt inevitable that as we get older our passion for United will wane.
Our recent struggles to win major titles could therefore very well be the reason for Mud's lack of passion for United.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't think VC posts over the weekend at all normally actually.... It's a pass the time at work thing
And nobody said its inevitable passion is lost either
Losing normally sees me disappearing with the dogs for a couple of hours so nobody gets snapped at
Nearly sure you made a comment a few days ago about it just being a game etc.... Now you want to call people out on lack of passion after a defeat
Also... Re Mudd... While the guy can speak for himself and is more than capable in running rings round you... If i recall correctly he took a backseat from posting as often due to real life issues being more important... I'd imagine that has more to do with re-evaluating what's important to him than United not winning the league every year
(apologies Mudd if I've said anything inappropriate)

......................
How do you deduce that? MUDd makes no reference to what is responsible, in the OP.
My passion for football has always been through Utd. We've had many highs and lows, post Fergie is probably a low many can't recall. Been following Utd since a young lad in the late 80s so I've seen Utd in worse situations than this but performances were generally good to keep me interested in football, didn't care about results.
Granted, the performances under Jose are nothing short of insipid but it's still not forcing me to switch off.
Performances are what I crave the most. What frustrates me more than most is the players are there to play exciting, expansive, gung-ho style football. We just don't have a manager who advocates that style or any style that exvites the fans. It's the result that matters the most. Confidence shown by the board in Jose should mean we have both the performance and results!
