In terms of players we didn't get then I've never been so relieved as when the deal for Lee Bowyer collapsed. To this day I have no clue why we were trying to sign that clown. He went to West Ham and was terrible for them instead.

In terms of players we did sign then Julian Dikks (his actual name is banned!) was a low point. Was just the most obvious and depressing example of the route Souness was taking us.

Plenty of others too. Konchesky in the same vein as Dikks. Benteke - not a bad player at the time but just didn't play to the strengths of the team Rodgers was building. Balotelli because be doesn't even play most of the time irrespective of the teams strengths!

Paul Konchesky, what Hodge podge was thinking is anyone’s guess, the same goes for
Jovanovic and Christian Poulsen. Never good enough for a club that wants to challenge the top clubs. And less said about Joe Cole the better
