Break the club transfer record fee for a goalscorer and then moan he doesn't defend enough. It is the Arsenal way it seems.

posted on 3/9/18

Thought he done his fair share of defending yesterday, saw him tracking back quite a bit. He should have had a hatrick vs Chelsea but he is always getting in them areas, goals will come.

Made 3 times as many tackles as anyone else in our starting XI Game leader in that aspect.

Yeh exactly, I don’t get the negativity, especially 4 games in. Jke

It seems to be the acceptable thought process for Arsenal fans. I blame AFTV.

AFTV are more positive than our lot here

Not criticising Auba scoring ability. He has been clinical since coming to us. However, I don't see how him and Laca can play if Auba is on the flanks.

Either Laca or Auba as central striker and the other one on the bench

Arsenal with Auba (lw) and Laca (st) together.

P 5
W 4
D 0
L 1
F 14
A 5

Auba:
4 goals
3 assists

Laca:
5 goals
1 assist

I don't see how Auba and Laca can play if Auba is on the flanks. I really can't. They will score too many goals.

I reckon after he missed them 2-3 chances against Chelsea his confidence got hit a little. Hopefully his goal at the weekend can boost him a little.

We should possible look to play both Laca and Auba up front together.

3-5-2 formation or 4-4-2 diamond.

No man has reached 10 league goals for Arsenal as fast as 'Aubameyang'. For that reason we should NOT trust him. Wait until 2020 to fully examine him, would also like to see him completely naked to have a complete overview.

What have people been saying about him?

Clearly he's a great goalscorer and seems to be a good influence in the team, just had a couple of bad games in front of goal. No more, no less.

That he needs to be dropped.

Forget about the several million other fans around the world but yeah judge all Arsenal fans on AFTV or the half a dozen that post on here regularly. Good grief man

Or the ones in the stadium on matchday, the ones phoning in radio shows, the ones commenting on newspaper articles etc etc etc...

Huh? I can't recall any moans at matches I've attended bout Auba and Laca was given a big cheer when he was warming up v West Ham.

I'd suggest that the fans who attend matches and spend cash the club are the ones who should be used to measure fans feelings towards a player not the knee jerk idiots who phone in to Talksport or Troopz on AFTV

posted on 4/9/18

The people who are on AFTV go to matches, that is the whole point
The comment you were replying to wasn't specifically about Auba and Laca, it was about the negativity. Negativity that is clearly shown by the Arsenal fans every matchday.,

Haven't really seen people asking for him to be dropped, only for him and Laca to be played together.

Although now that they have some are saying he's not a wideman, but only a minority I think.

"Auba has not shown anything this season to suggest he should replace Laca or even be part of a front 3."

Unless the poster here is suggesting a CB role, I would say he wants Auba dropped.... And he is not the only one.

Very few people I would think genuinely want Auba dropped. Those that do are such a small minority that I wouldn't use their views as a barometer of what most Gooners think.

As for the perceived negativity of Arsenal fans, I would think that Arsenal fans are no different to any supporters of a big club. They pay a lot of money and have a right to say what they think about the performances on the pitch. I very much doubt if they are different to say the fans of Chelsea for example who I'm sure would be just as peeved had their team not won a title since 2004

No one is using it as a barometer for anything. The OP has rightly pulled up people on this site for their negativity.

This is the most negative article I've read on the Arsenal board here in a long time

Starting him and Laca is what's best. If there's a scenario where we can only play one of them then it would make sense to play Lacazette as he looks in much better form... (however that's hypothetical)

Sorry but you have said that Arsenal fans are negative and used the likes of AFTV and fan phone ins as an example to back this up. I'm just saying that I doubt if Arsenal fans are a different breed to other fans and that most fans of under performing big clubs will moan when things aren't going well.

How is praising Auba negative? How is praising Laca negative? How is asking fans to support the team negative?

The only negativity here is towards the people who are negative.

That's kind of a negative attitude to have though about other Arsenal fans
