An ok signing. Absolutely magical sometimes but pike you said he couldn't be trusted when it mattered. I never forget the Chelsea home game where we lost 2-1 in 2010 where it was his time to shine as rooney was injured and he was awful and missed some decent chances.
Great player to watch though and i don't think I have seen a player with a better first touch at OT.
I agree, we didn't need him at that point.
Our attacking play was fluid with Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo. Berba came in real use after Ronnie left our club and we had to change our style of play.
I think that was my first summer as a United supporter where I would have been happy signing nobody.
I'll never forget that casual cushioned overhead kick he scored against us that went in off the bar. Devastating at the time but one of my favourite goals that we have conceded (if that makes sense) in terms of the quality of it. It was just him in a nutshell.
One of my favourite players to watch. Just absolutely oozed class, his first touch was unreal. He had everything to be a major success but i feel his mentality let him down abit. Definitely don't think he was a poor signing.
berba was bought to annoy the neighbours, he was the sanchez of the day

Maybe poor is a little unfair but for the price he cost at the time we could have done much better imo. Never had a great season imo.
Probably not a great signing, but one of my favourite players. I loved watching him, he had magic feet.
If Berbatov had the dedication of CR7, he would have been one of the best ever. Effortless class he had.
Another goal that just sums him up.

Classic revisionist history especially for a player like Berbatov who is seen as being very talented. Distinctly remember you lot moaning about him, probably fair enough, had his fair share of lazy games up top.
Bad signing, should never of been bought.
Was the end of tevez.
Didn't really have a good season with us.
Was lazy as fook.
Was a vanity purchase.
A class player who had some wonderful moments. On balance, a good signing if not the right one.
One of the issues we had was that our play didn't go through him nearly enough. We often looked to switch play to wide areas and bypassed Berbatov. He's the kind of player with the touch, skill, vision and invention that to bring the best out of, you have to go through him as much as possible.
One of the very few footballers that could play the game walking.
He was the closest thing to Dennis Bergkamp, a complete wizard of a footballer.
Statistics will have him down as a poor signing for us, scored almost 1 in 2 for Manchester United, but we know his goals came like buses.
Amazingly gifted played. But IMO he is up there as one of Fergie's worst signings.
Loved him at Spurs. Sad to see him go but understand why he did. Bit like Teddy

Wonderful footballer. Ok signing like you said
He was a decent signing but not great. But it was worth the money to pinch him out from under City's nose and the hatrick against the scousers.
He didn't take us onto another level and you could argue Tevez (who he ultimately replaced) was better but he was a joy to watch at times and it's moments like the Ronaldo assist that you wanna savour. So for that he wasn't a poor signing, just not one who made us better.
Fergie paid over the odds for him and it paved the way for Tevez to join City.
I don't know why Stretty watches football, but I watch to see players like him.

Yeah nice one. Doesn't change the fact you paid more for Robinho and he was much worse
