Not sure who is out their Don, I am not so clued up on transfer as some of you younger members, but pretty sure there will be a couple coming in. Levy has played this well, all other clubs, bar City have probably spent their transfer war chest, Levy has kept his up his sleeve, and I expect him to purchase in January, to strengthen even further an already very, very good squad. This should help in the push for the title come the big games in March and April.

It all depends on the ambition of the club and Levy, if he wants to win something then yes needs to improve the squad, if happy to be just in the mix then no stay as we are and have been for the last 2 or 3 seasons

Don, I must admit I have never heard of him. Who does he play for?

We won't sign anyone so not thinking about it too much. But for me a striker isn't important. Son can do a great job up there. Would need to spend £50m to get a better backup striker than Son.

If we were to sign anyone CM is the most important. Rabiot would be the only one I could think of that would be good enough and cheap enough. I would also like to see a right back as Trippier and Aurier aren't good enough.

Sandy, look at my article Ajax mate, Danish striker. 21 years of age and tall, but incredibly good technically and a wonderful finisher. Look up his stats mate.

See I completely disagree mate. A striker is massively important as I don’t think Son is clinical enough to play on his own without Kane. I love Son, but he’s not a striker.

A attacking player is well down the list.

2x CMs and a LB is needed first

if we need to strengthen anywhere its Fullbacks and midfield

Well my opinion is still a striker. If Kane gets injured then people won’t be saying we don’t need attacking options. We have enough midfield options for now, but we don’t have a proper striker.

Order of priority for me is

CM
DM
LB
CM
RB

We've proven these last few seasons that we can win games without Kane.

Though I don't expect us to make any signings anyway

We always here this about Kane yet when he doesn’t play we normally win.

Our midfield options atm are Sissoko & Skipp.

Real top teams have at least 2 top strikers to choose from. City have Aguero and Jesus. Arsenal although not as good as us still have Laca and Aubameyang. You even go back to the old title winning teams... United ( York and Cole ) Blackburn ( Shearer and Sutton). Every top side winning stuff always had 2 decent strikers to choose from if need be. We have Harry Kane that’s it. Like I said, I love Son but he’s not consistent or clinical enough for me if Kane was out long term. We win the odd game without Kane, but would we win lots of games if he was injured for a month ?

I'd like to see a replacement striker come in, but it's a difficult one because they'd need to be good enough that they're going to make a difference and that will usually mean having to spend a lot of money. If it were one of the top clubs they wouldn't think twice about splashing cash to get in another top striker just to make them as good as possible.

No offence Don, but bringing another young striker from the Dutch league doesn't fill me with confidence after Janssen. It's still a weak league that can make attacking players look better than they are.

Real top teams don't need to give 18 year olds their premier league debut whenever they want to rest one of their CMs.

Real top teams don't go through most of the season with Ben Davies as their best LB because the other one can't stay fit

In an ideal world we'd have another striker sure but honestly surprised you think that's the most important thing for us to strengthen

Also there is room for improvement in CM and in the FB positions. With prime Dembele almost like a distant memory now, and us lacking creativity when Eriksen isn't around, we could do with 1 or 2 that can tick those boxes.

I look at the bigger picture mate. Kane gets injured for a month and we will struggle I’m telling you now. Winning the odd game without Kane is fantastic, but to go a month say and not have him ? Sorry but we would struggle. A decent top quality young striker like a Dolberg could come straight in and take that spot if need be. With any transfer it’s a risk, but a striker is something I think we need.

posted on 18/12/18

Spurtle, Dolberg is a completely different player to Jansen mate. Jansen always been very slow and laboured. Dolberg is similar to Kane in a way. Tall gangly sort of player, but technically excellent but also quite pacey for a tall guy. But the main thing is his finishing ability which is top notch.

Nevertheless Don, the PL is a big step up from the Dutch League.

It might pay off, it might not. At the least I don't think we'd see the best of them for a season.

posted on 18/12/18

Spurtle, I’m just using Dolberg as an example. He’s someone who I have seen that would suit Spurs. There are lots of decent strikers out there that are gettable. Maxi Lopez for Celta Vigo who is another top young striker going under the radar at the minute.

Thanks Don, will do. Ajax do produce a lot of talent. If they kept all their players, they would be a very serious club again.

Speaking of which... where the hell is Janssen?! He's still on our books, and we haven't loaned him out have we? What a waste of a career!
