Morning Brummie. Looks like a shirt sales signing to me. Good player though.

Wow, that's a lot of money for someone who barely features for Dortmund.

Wouldn't be surprised to see CHO go the other way.

I take it he's coming in the summer?

Yep, summer

That can’t be right as he’s going back on loan

The kid is 2020 and in the last four seasons:

15-16: 12
16-17: 43
17-18: 42
18-19: 17

That seems pretty strong, to me (although, admittedly, I'm going from stats alone and cannot say I watch the kid week-in, week-out).

Just heard he's staying at Dortmund for the rest of the season.

Maybe it's a long term plan to pair him with CHO and phase out Pedders and Willy - or even paving the way for Hazard to leave.

£58 mil for a 20 year old, I've never seen him play for Dortmund but watched the USA game vs England.

He looked their best player but that doesn't mean too much.

Definitely an area we need strengthening though with Willian passed it and Pedro getting on a bit. Also with the possibility of Hazard going in the summer.

Can see us a getting a new front 3 as mentioned in my previous posts.

The kid is 20*...and not Elrond from LOTR

He plays on the other wing, it will effect CHO either way about as much as it will Bulka.

That said it's not the most exciting transfer ever.

Waiting for a new striker to be signed, should have been the 1st priority this window

Sarri has been quoted as saying over the weekend that he's not concerned about bringing a striker in, including Abraham who's scoring for fun at Vanilla.

That in itself I find rather worrying.

Got this below from another forum that could explain why Sarri said what he did.

"g is from what a coach says publicly.

Coaches like so much that we don't even call it lying. We call it "coachspeak"

I dont believe Sarri for a second.

He's defending his players publicly, rather than running down his current players for not being good enough like Mourinho and Conte.

The whole free world knows that Chelsea needs a striker. He mentions wings, because that's safe, thatd where all the injuries are. He can talk about that position without talking down anyone's ability.

He knows we need a striker. We all know.

But it doesn't do anyone any good, not in team morale, not in resale value, to say "what I have isn't good enough." "

I thought Liverpool have already signed him????

DD11 , I agree, we must remember that Sarri is a thinker and psychologist ,far more than Mourinho and Conte.

Well done that man .

Think Sarri really wants to work with Higuain again and Higuain probably feels the same, not sure we can get that to happen as it seems a complicated one.

If not, we'll have to make do with Hazard as a false nine for most games and play Morata and Giroud in the cup competitions.

What do you think this most likely means: strengthening the team in general or Hazard replacement?

Strengthening the team and more a replacement for Willian and Pedro as Pulisic is more of a right winger.

I've got no beef with it. Good youngster with a lot of potential to grow. The loan back clause means CHO will probably be staying so people can stop freaking out about that too.

The fee is a bit of a joke admittedly but there's no point focusing on that with deals these days, especially for young players. It's a better deal than Barca got for Ousmane Dembele and his commercial value was always gunna drive the price up so fair enough I guess.

terrible siging

i dont believe he is signed for footballing purposes but business and marketing purposes.

where does it leave callum hudson odoi - nailed on move and legendary status awaiting for him at bayern munich - thats where.

i've calmed down about CHO in the past few days. I think if he's fit he could get some game time over the next month or so that could convince him to put pen to paper.

Sideshow, thanks for posting those links. The second one in particular was very interesting, could be the goal scoring CM we need? Started his career in central positions so if his off the ball movement's good enough it's possible in theory.
