That’s rubbish. We won 1-0 with a Niall Ennis goal. Someone put up the score from the last time we beat them

Awful. Only signed for Cardiff last week as their record signing at £15 million.

Don't recall the guy being linked with us, but an awful story. Hope there is some chance of all being found alive, but it doesnt sound good.

Awful news.

Just read about that plane crash. Terrible story for a player on his way to sign a big Premier League contract and set himself up for the future

Linked with us this month and during the summer. Was becoming a very good goalscorer in France.

Wolves U23's did indeed win 1-0 at Hull yesterday in the Premier league U23 Cup. We are in Group E and top it with 8 points. (P4 W2 D2 L0) Two more games to go and next up is home to Swansea City who are second with 7 points. Top two in each group, there are 8 groups, go through to the next stages.

Our youth having a very good season

Indeed cinci. Our next U23 league game is this Friday at home to Fulham. We are currently 3rd in the table behind Reading and Southampton but have a game in hand. Should we win that then we go top. if we finish top we're promoted to Premier league 2 Division 1 with the big boys.

Good times indeed.

Interested to read that Man Utd have had 31 players injured at various stages of this season. Wolves have had 4. That’s great credit to our medical staff and trainers but also a blessing given that I don’t think we are blessed with great quality in depth in our squad yet.

Even top clubs can suffer if a few players get injured and they have a shallow squad. Be interesting to see if Spurs can hold their position in the league now that Kane, Son and Alli are all missing.

I don't really rate them that much anyway. Think they get a long way by organisation. So reliant on two or three players to add any quality to their play.

I think they are good and play good football but being in four competitions at this stage after not making a single signing in the summer and having the bulk of your side playing late in a world cup makes it very tough.

I also think they were/are the main beneficiary of the decline of our top clubs for a spell the last five years which looks to be coming to an end now and I suspect normal service will be resumed very soon, especially if pochettino is tempted elsewhere.

posted on 22/1/19

What is this “decline in our top clubs”? Every year, without fail, we have clubs at the top. All clubs have ups and downs. Which specific clubs are you taking about?

posted on 22/1/19

Can someone explain to our man across the border, on the remote island, that the decline is measured by our performances in Europe.

We last won the Champions League in 2012 when Chelsea lifted the trophy. Liverpool have got the closest, since then when they finished runners up last season.

We are only slightly better in the Europa league.

posted on 22/1/19

I figured it was fairly obvious, our clubs certainly had a decline and European performance has mirrored that for a spell and i think we can all remember Leicester winning the league title with what was generally a very average bunch of players punching well above their weight for a season whilst the big boys imploded like never before.

posted on 22/1/19

Well I remember Leeds, Blackburn, Forest, and Villa being top clubs, and falling away, but there have always been sides to replace them. The whole thing goes in cycles, and always has. Maybe last year's winners won't do it this year. I have seen it constantly change in my lifetime. The "big boys" is a phrase that doesn't apply to any specific clubs, other than monetary worth some may enjoy at any specific time.
