The problem at Shrewsbury wasn’t that we played narrow it was the players we were playing up front in roles that don’t suit them. We played narrow against West Ham and Everton but with players that can play that role. No problem with any two from Costa, Cavaleiro or Traore playing as long as we play a centre forward as well. None of those three can play that role effectively
Such is the interest in the cup now though, I would be surprised if Jiminez and Jota don’t start on Tuesday. Plenty of recovery time for them before the next league game
Couldn’t really give a flying feck for the FA Cup..........
Until now

Spamgles of course the problem was we played narrow, we weren't playing Jota and Jiminez, and playing two players better suited out wide.
Also other changes meant our game wasn't as fluid as our first team.
Sure play narrow with Jota and Jiminez, but Traore and Costa will hurt them more out wide.
dont pizz about
take it seriously , same team as saturday bar neves if his knock warrants it.

I agree sid, probably Ruddy will get a game too
Yes full strength squad for me, plenty of recovery time till NUFC next Monday
I would like to retract a comment I made in the Everton match thread regarding the Gomes goal. I suggested Rui should have done better. Having seen replays, I doubt both Patricio and Ruddy together would have stopped that shot.
Reckon Gomes was auditioning for a move to the desirable Portuguese enclave of Wolverhampton actually. I think we can do better however.
Would be surprised if we make so few changes as that.
Squad game and we need to keep squad players up to speed, they are plenty good enough for Shrewsbury in the right formation
Can't find the game on TV anywhere so if you don't have a ticket the choice is a stream or audio commentary on Wolves TV.

Fixed it for you Gemlad
Just noticed that Jiminez is the highest scoring Mexican in the Prem, Jota is the highest scoring Portuguese in the Prem, Saiss is the highest scoring Moroccan in the Prem, and even Doherty is the second highest scoring Irishman in the Prem.

The match thread will indeed be the place to keep abreast of the action because I shall be listening to the audio commentary and posting regular updates for those who can't see or hear the game.
Jota is out after taking a knock and Ennis will be involved. The young striker has done well for the U23's thus far.
I can see 4 or more changes for this game, if nothing else, than to keep players match fit.
Looks like Edwards won't be playing which is a shame for us

If Coady had took a step to the left rather than turning his back on it don't think Rui would have been bothered. Body on the line for the cause Codes ffs, if I turned my back on a shot when I was at school the cane would have been swiftly delivered by my PE teacher, even though it was not going at 150 mph like Gomes's.
Seems that Jota will miss the game with injury and Vinagre is ill. Neves however might play. Ennis has been brought into the squad to replace Jota

Agreed, as I'm sure the fans would have given him a warm reception.
Having said that, it hasn't yet been confirmed that he definitely won't be playing. Sam Ricketts is still waiting to assess him, according to the E&S.
Will be interesting if Ennis plays, he was on loan at Shrewsbury a couple of years ago, not sure how much he played though. I hope he's over his injury worries now, from the very little Ive seen of him he looks lively and would fit in to that Jota role quite nicely.
That said, Im not sure this is the game for him, I'm hoping there will be a slightly more experienced starter or two on the field that will bang in 3 or 4, allowing him to come on and make a 20 minute cameo.
Yeah I hope he is cleared as it will be handy if our midfielders could just play in third gear and get some rest for the weekend.
I noticed elsewhere that everyone has forgotten he actually played(turned up) against us for Reading last season.
Shame Dave Edwards has missed out on these games. He would get a great reception from Wolves fans just as Kevin Doyle did and Leon Clarke didn’t
That's both legs you have said that.
I guess ultimately Leon wouldn't need the sympathy love in as his career is still going strong unlike Dave and Doyle.
Dave was pretty anonymous as I recall when he played against us for Reading. He got a good reception though.
Going to be a decent crowd tomorrow, Salop haven't sold many though so won't be a sell out, 25k probably.
Had arranged a meeting London way before the first game, going to be a challenge to get back for kick off.
Wolves have so far sold 23,500 and Shrewsbury 2,500. The north bank corner that Shrewsbury couldn’t sell has now been opened up to Wolves fans. Attendance should end up about 27,000
27,000 for a cup game against League 1 opposition on a Monday night is testament to the way Nuno and his players have got us all captured.
To put it into perspective, it's about 1,000 more than West Brom were getting for a Premier League home game on a Saturday.
