Young Player of the Year

Not sure when the vores finish but from what Ive seen outside of stats Id maybe go for Rashford.

Sterling by far the best this season.

As you say, 24 is in no way a young player. You could make an argument for 23 as there is actually an u23's league, other than that isn't crazy.

Based on current form Rashford is the obvious winner, seems the most well rounded attacking player in that age bracket.

I have been impressed with Torreira, Brooks and Richarlison at points this season too. A worryingly short list tbh.

Torriera looks older and plays for Arsenal so is disqualified

Rashford for me

Given the age brackets Sterling is the favourite and probably deserving of it, but the age bracket is a bit of a joke tbh when you're eligible in your mid twenties

Players with 150+ appearances in the league alone by then.

I think it should be for players 21 and under.

With the lack of first team opportunities you can under stand the age bracket being extended.

Maybe a "Rookie" type award would be better. Players sub-50 PL games or something.

Yeah, Sterling is pretty much at the mid point in his career. Played about 300 games for top PL teams (over 200 in the PL), been to 2 world cups.

Couldn't be many complaints if it was Sterling out of that lot.

Not a single Chelsea player in the top 15 Sky Bet favourites.

Not sure why Winks shouldn't be included?

He's not been that good.

I would say he's had as good a season as Alli if not better.

Sterling should win it although 24 is a bit old for young player of the year surely??

Yeah I'd get rid of Alli from the list.

In terms of actual best breakout player it's David Brooks.

I would've put Gomez ahead of Trent and if Sterling can get nominated than there's no reason why Robertson can't be on that list. Part of the best defence in the league and one of the best creators according to the assists stats.

posted on 6/2/19

Has Brooks been good all season, or just come on even further the last month or two? Didn't really hear him mentioned much (before the Christmas period) apart from as peoples cheap sub midfielder in FF. It was all about Fraser for Bournemouth, ridiculous stats.

Trent Alexander Arnold for me.

Mainly on account of his age - the others aren't young enough, with the possible exception of Rashford, but he's only flourishing post-Jose so it's too soon.

Robertson is 25 in March, Sterling was only 24 in December. Is the cut off perhaps still being 24 at the end of the season or something?

Anyways...between the 3 City boys for me.

Have to be 23 or younger at the start of the season I think.

They should match it with their squad rules, u21s.

I don't know, I'm sure the Daily Mail would be unhappy about it!

Sterling has over 200 senior appearances to his name.

It's not his fault of course, but it'd be a massive joke if he wins it.
