Probably more ridiculous than the fellaini deal, 100k , if the Chinese ain’t mental enough to have some of that
Wonder what face he pulled when that was put in front of him

Should`ve got rid after last season`s cup final. He`s a car crash waiting to happen. Bad enough retaining Smalling, but this just takes the slash
Should have got rid of him not offered a new deal.
Fellaini signed a new deal 6 months before we sold him. It means nothing. We probably just ensuring need get a free for him if he does move on.

Ensuring we give him a way for free by signing a new contract?

I'll say that's about the best Utd can get from that transfer.
We made £5m profit by the Fellaini new contract factoring in his sale price.
If that's the plan with Jones it makes perfect business sense. He's clearly not going to be first choice next season. I think we are just ensuring we get some money for him when he does move on.

No Woodward was proven right with Fellaini. We are financially better off having renewed it and sold him than we would have been letting him leave for free actually.

MUDD, it is this simple really no matter how people try to spin it. Jones is not going to China for starters, so the questions we then have to ask who is going to come in for Jones and table an offer that will be deemed a "good deal" financially for Manchester United? My guess is, no one.

Jones is the sort we could punt to arsenal I would imagine

Maybe sell him in a couple of years and get a good fee lol.
I don't think that it is a bad deal to be honest. I suspect Rojo will be on his way, which would leave us with 4 CBs next season, plus hopefully Axel coming into the squad.
If Ole has made the decision that he thinks he can get a tune out of Bailly and/or Lidelof, or perhaps bring Axel through, he may have already decided against going after a CB (assuming he gets the permanent job). In which case signing Jones as experienced cover isn't a bad thing. Perhaps has an eye on keeping him at the club for another year or two whilst the others develop. And as Ole says, he is entering what should be his prime years. He is never going to be world class, but he is a good CB when he can stay fit and if he is going to be used sparingly, he will hopefully be ok.
