Non starter this banning the sectarian stuff because quite simply the clubs refuse to accept any penalties as a result of it. So no fines, no point deductions can take place without the clubs agreeing.
Which they have refused to do.
They'll trot out the statements and that's it. They both do that well.
But forget any change unless the clubs agree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well maybe it's time that the authorities make decisions themselves
Why does the SFA need the clubs to agree to anything before they put it in place, they are the governing body, and it is they who issue the clubs with licences to play
They found it easy enough to bend the rules when we went into administration did they not?

You only have to look at the bbc football homepage. Every game across Europe is talking about referees and dodgy Var and contentious decisions. Only in Scotland do we tie in religion or perceived bias to one team or another. Quite pathetic
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’d be replacing dodgy refs with more dodgy refs. There’s no Welsh refs in Champions league Nd only more English one than there are Scottish! But aye ours are all brothers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thing is, the refs are not really that bad. If footballers and managers did not cheat all the time (Ryan Kent excepted) then their job would be a whole lot easier
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The SFA need to change the rules to rugby style and implement them. The bad behaviour would soon reduce. Remember Collina the Italian ref 👀 He never had any problems 👍

What I don’t get is - if you shouted sectarian or racist stuff in Braehead, the shopping centre wouldn’t be liable for it. You would.
So why should football clubs be liable for what people do there? Why should they have a responsibility for what individuals choose to do?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well we almost had that scenario when IE and Murney had a Feni@n and Orange B@stard 12 rounder at Braehead

Because they are their customers.
Attitude like that then take what it is. Sectarianism right the way through. Football clubs in England get fined over homophobic chanting and singing. It's accepted that this is what will happen.
Scotland; nah. Everything's fine here mate.
It's a pathetic embarrassment and anyone who laughs it off as a wee 90 minute bigot bit of fun is an idiot.

The SFA are a members club and the members make the rules. It's the interpretation of those rules that causes angst.
There is no rule so nothing to interpret.
Rangers and Celtic are equally culpable

Do you know what I love.... some of the people on here acting like they have never sang a ‘sectarian song’ used the phrase orange of fen**n baxtard... listened to certain songs, seen a player for the other team do something you didn’t agree with and call them a fen**n/orange cvnt etc

I havent really said much on the ref situation:
For me the get a raw deal big time. The game has changed so much, its much, much faster. Players are faster, the ball is faster everything happens quicker than it used to. The rules are far more complex now and you could get away with far far more than you can now (in terms of tackling).
Players are also far more savvy in conning refs and buying fouls.
Not a single incident gets missed now due to the coverage and amount of camera's and you ca get a slow mo and still images of every single second of a match from multiple angles.
You get a lot more discussion and breakdown of the game now, via media and forums etc.
All the above has changed so much in the last 15 years or so. All those changes, all make the refs job more difficult yet NOTHING has changed in terms of helping refs making the right decision. Of course they are gonna get more decisions wrong and of course more of them will get highlighted and scrutinised much more.
All these changes and no extra help from the refs, what do you expect to happen? They need help, they havent gotten poorer in fact i think they have gotten better but the job they are expected to do is far more challenging than it ever was.

Nothing we can do about it. Nothing will change.
My personal opinion is it should change and the clubs should be fined or have points deducted. Then maybe the morons might realise albeit they seem to miss the point that when they damage seats away from home, their club has to pay so who knows

Can everyone stop talking about all of this until we get Tynecastle out the way first?
FFS you're killing my buzz for my Broad Black Brimmer being worn.
Must have hit a nerve with Clarke, theres much worse things out there. Perhaps he is quite religious.
I'd heard Clarke was a Tim, then a Rangers man, then a Killie fan like his old man but i think given his comments yesterday he probably sways more to our side
One thing is for sure, it has deflected from a horse dung performance by Killie (and the ref)
Pretty sure that in Braehead shopping centre, if you went in with no shirt/shoes, then you would be asked to leave. They have rules, Football clubs should have and enforce rules too.
