There are plans a foot to play premiership Rugby at the stadium next season also, same as they do at the spammers stadium
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s actually taking the rugby game that’s held at London stadium over to ours
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes that could be true

I suppose it would be good commercially. but this is our football stadium.. we seem to be whoring it out to anyone and everyone
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you object to summer concerts then ?

The whole point of the retractable pitch is not only lucrative NFL games but also to maximise it's use for obvious financial reasons.

the occasional summer concert is ok... its off season.. might as well get the revenue... the agreed NFL games are fine.... but I don't want it to be too diluted the fact that this is our football stadium... its becoming like wembley... anyone can use it for everything.

this is our spiritual football home.

Plus NWHL will be the smallest stadium in the NFL once the Chargers move into their permanent LA home.

Again, absolutely farcical suggestion
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like I said....Superbowl is all about the TV numbers, sponsors and advertisers... has nothing to do with people in the stadium.... all they will want is a flashy packed stadium and a billion people watching on TV.

7pm start in London is 2pm in the East & 11am out west. Weather clearly not a problem having awarded a SB to NY outdoors in Feb a few years ago
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Incorrect. It will never ever happen, for the same reason that the FA Cup final will never be played in the US.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't agree mate..... 99% of NFL fans have never been to a superbowl. It also doesn't have a traditional home ala Wembley. Its a TV event !!!! Non football fans tune in for the Half time show in their masses !!!!! NFL owners are money making machines and given the success of the increased numbers of NFL games played in London over the past 5 years... This is an inevitability
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's just not though.

You are showing an absolute lack of understanding of Americans and the connection to their sport. Half of them tuned out because a few players kneeled during the American national anthem. It's a matter of patriotism for them (hence there are thanksgiving games every year).

Holding their showpiece event abroad would be sacriledge and it'll never happen. There is also absolutely no incentive for them to do it. If they cared about the UK market as much as you seem to think they do, they'd screen the game in the afternoon their time, rather than the evening so the UK market can watch it en masse.

There will be a team here, of that I have no doubt, there may well be a pro-bowl hosted here, but there will never ever be a superbowl hosted outside of the US.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And yet they already have NFL games over here. It does sort of counter your argument IMO.

I'd also add, Americans are more open to their version of football being shared across the pond because its an American sport that, with more world wide exposure, would develop even further. Our version of football doesn't need world wide exposure as its the biggest sport in the world.

I think it is invevitable that more games will be played over here. As a result, I think that increases the chances of a super bowl one day.

Actual location of the Superbowl is irrelevant..... Its all about how it looks on TV. Its impossible to get a ticket and barely any fans from either team get to go. Its all about corporate sponsorship and advertising. Its the perfect opportunity for the NFL to spread the brand across the pond... which by the way is the same distance from NY as LA !
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a difference of 800 miles, or 1300 kilometres.

Just imagine the scenes if after the first NFL game the retractable football pitch fails to fully deploy (and then cannot be retracted again) because one of the rails buckles or something rendering the stadium unusable for months.

Motors fail, get people in to push it, a rail buckles, you replace it.
What if one of the stands burns down ? Couldn't possibly happen at another stadium could it ?

What kind of pitch is the second one that they stick in for NFL? Is it artificial like 3G astroturf kind of stuff or are they able to keep 2 grass pitches in good condition throughout the year?

It’s a artificial pitch

Which would they use for Rugby then? Fackin hammers sliding on that kind of pitch unless they're different to what we use. It's okay for NFL players as they wear those noncey trousers.

The pitch sections weigh 3,000 tonnes each so good luck with that.

a rail buckles, you replace it.
Which would possibly require the removal of at least one of the 3,000 tonen pitch segments first

What if one of the stands burns down ?
Why the fυсk even mention this, I was talking about mechanical failure rendering the pitch unusable.

Couldn't possibly happen at another stadium could it ?
No what I describe couldn't happen at another stadium because other stadiums do not have a retractable football pitch.

Fυсking idiot.

Rugby would use the grass pitch I assume and I’m pretty sure it’s only the Saracens v Harlequins game going to be played

So what time would the game start in the UK?

About 11pm and end about 2am..

Fack off if that'll ever happen

Cant believe you are getting a hard on over your stadium being used for another sport

Don’t worry, I’m sure you can hold a World Series at Anfield one day
