unfortunately i see him as the jesse smollett of football, using whatever he can to get ahead / attention / more money
--------------
yeah I can remember the time he pretended to get beaten up and blamed it on white people, i guess he should be a good boy and shut up when fellow professionals get racially abused
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no i just dont think he should be talking to the press

he will be transgender or gay next.

How people perceive his comments say as much about them as they do about him, to be honest.

was clearly a joke mate

my point is that the media inflame the situation

I firmly believe that they know rose loves a chat to the media, they know he is a somewhat controversial outspoken character who might not have much of a filter,

they dress up the racism part, they quote how much he spends on a night out, which to joe public might insight anger. They know this..

This article will incite hatred towards rose and drum up more clicks and likes, and more often than not create animosity towards rose,

all done under the guise of "being against racism" and "speaking out"

the Media are the real culprits here imo they inflame the situation.

hes done an interview mate, they called him up they set up an interview and want him to talk about race. and then they publish a comment about how much he spends on a night out.

if the media wanted to send a message about race they would have left that out.

i don't understand the issue with rose equating the fine with nights out he has? are people surprised that footballers spend loads of money on a night out or did you expect him to spend similar to what you do?would you be happier if he said the fine is similar to what i spend on my car? he's a footballer the fact he spends sh!tloads shouldn't even be a issue when he's commentating on racism

You just they called him up and set a interview up.

That is completely false, he was asked the question after our match against palace.

He was asked a question and said what he honestly fault yet is getting blamed and called names like moron.

No it doesn’t, the only reason to think it would is ironically how you perceive the comments...

I interpreted him saying that to be “there’s this much money in football, how can it be the case that the fines for a country can equate to less than a daily wage of a player”, which I think is a very valid and fair point to make.

tbh i didn't even think about that point he made but some people who have ran with that and been offended by that more than his points on actual racism says a lot really

That’s what I meant earlier when I said it says as much about them, if their first thought on it is about the money (and interpreting that comment in the way some have)

Ironically, the point Rose was making was about racism not being taken seriously, then people pick up on a throw away comment about money and focus on that, rather than his main talking point

Definitely.

There are certain subjects where the morons in society immediately look to see how they can argue against the point being made.

When it comes to a black player complaining about racism, if someone's first thought is to pick holes in one of the sentences that the player has said then it's a fair bet there's an underlying reason for that focus.

Fact is Rose is black and he works in an environment where he’s been racially abused and I’m sure will experience the same again.
He’s spot on.
No one should have to experience that whatever their occupation is

There needs to be more people like Rosa Parks for racism to go away.

Racism won't ever go away, it's ingrained in some cultures and people's minds. But we can try and eradicate it as best we can. I don't blame Rose for his comments, does anyone know wtf Kick it Out even do these days?

Fully respect his thoughts feelings and motivations for what he expressed.

There are aspects of personal and human life that are hugely more important than football, or any sport. And the presence of personal and collective ignorance that, in turn, leads to irrational fears (phobias) and the socially destructive manifestation of those phobias as they lead individuals to hate, anger and violence is definitely top of the list. But that is all 'old news'.

It's not just in football stadia that the issue is prevalent.
Anybody that thinks that retiring from football will miraculously transform their experiential life is sadly misplaced. Standing in a shopping queue, sitting in a doctor's waiting room, walking through any high street, mixing in the public social meeting places, looking at the posts on social media forums (such as this one - which is one of the worst), indeed it is present in just about anywhere humans are likely to engage in discursive interactions with other humans.

Just 'earwigging' into the those discourses will produce all the evidence one needs of just how odious as a species we can be.

Ignorance is at the base of such issues, as smart people already understand. Ignoring the explanations as to why those irrational fears lead to hate, anger and worse is exemplary of just how lazy thinking we can be.

Proper socialisation is a three generation exercise. Not something that is going to happen overnight, but we have just got to start somewhere. We are wasting all the good stuff, that the variety of human life really offers.

Hope Mr Rose, and everybody else, fights this fight all the way.

I think Danny Rose could have said a number of things that people would have agreed with and got behind, but unfortunately because he lives in the wealthy 'football bubble' he opens himself up to ridicule with statements like:
"I can't wait to see the back of football"

- to which the inevitable answer is that as a football player who has so many millions already if it is affecting you that badly and you hate it so much why don't you just retire NOW.

His problem is that there are only 2 realistic reasons that he does not do so:-
(1) He is just a bit of a narcissist who wants as much attention as he can get.
(2) The upset he feels is not as bad as he suggests and so he chooses to go for the millions for as long as it lasts.

Neither reason is likely to invoke much sympathy amongst the general public.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He probably couldn't care less whether idiots across the UK give him any sympathy to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that doesn't make any sense, if he believes they are all idiots and couldn't care less what they think why would he be upset about the level of the response ? Duh...
