I agree totally NNH.

Lennon is a decent enough mid table SPL manager.

I would say Steve Clarke has been more impressive as a coach over the piece than Lennon.

At the end of the day Lennon is a clear downgrade from Brendan Rodgers. That can only benefit Rangers.

Celtic have the money to appoint someone of Brendans calibre so there is no real excuse for taking the risk appointing Lennon.

I don't think that's fair.

He won 3 titles as Celtic manager and 2 Scottish cups.

He also gave us some memorable nights in Europe and qualified for the last 16.

He done a very good job with Hibs but ultimately they struggled when losing McGeough and McGinn.

He's always going to have some off field issues which is concerning but he's better than a mid table Scottish Premiership manager.

It needs to be one helluva appointment to appease the support over NL. The fans are only half hearted on NL for manager, but not against it if the candidates are not big names. NL would do for me but after BR, its gonna be hard.

Has he mellowed a bit or just keeping it calm as he is only interim boss? He seems a bit more calm in interviews but he has not been on the end of any dodgy decisions I suppose, what do yous think?

He's just calmer because it's an interim position and knows if he acts like a fud between now and the summer he won't get the job.

Lawwell wants him to get it but it's up to Desmond.

I think Lennon will be OK as celtic manager but he wont be as good as Brendan.

I think he is limited as a manager.

And I am not convinced he is the very best celtic could attract right now.

And anything that gives Rangers more of a chance of catching celtic is good for us

It would not be the worst appointment but we should be going higher, i would like him involved though maybe as part of the team not sure he would want to be downgraded though.

Hendry starts the reserve game against Rangers, 0-0 half time, more updates should they happen Oko-flex first scorer methinks

An awkward situation as whoever is manager next season has a couple of poor results, the support will be heavy on the board...should have been the other guy

Lennon would be a safer bet than Clark. Lennon has proved he can win trophies and get results in Europe. Clark has built a side from nothing that is very difficult to beat. Not enough to be given the Celtic job.

I would prefer someone else but if Lenny gets it I would have few worries.

Even now it's looking like our nearest challengers will have weaker squads next season.

thats fine mate but we will let sinclairs go and do you really think we will back lennon? i don't

posted on 15/4/19

He has to be backed if it is him, keep the core of the team and a few decent players we should be fine. Couple of £4/5m ones please. We have plenty doh if they are not using it on a new high profile manager get some new players instead. Surely they will not gamble on the road to 10???...........

Although obviously regressing a team from European qualifiers to bottom six is something seen as a positive for a Celtic manager.

Interesting concept as you try for 9 and 10 in a row. I mean, not everyone would go for a guy who is capable of making a team much, much worse than they were the previous year.

I’m sure you’ll be able to give us a fairly lengthy list of Dundee Utd managers that have achieved this though...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not sure what this has to do with Dundee United to be honest. Seems like a deflection technique to me.

But to humour you the list is actually quite short. I can only think of one.

I think both celtic and Ranger will have some work to do on their squads in the summer.

I am not sure how you can conclude we will be weaker though.

Are celtic not going to lose quite a few players at the back?

We are losing Worrall which should be an extra 4-6 points gain for us next season.

Other than that Kent will go but we can cope with that. He is a really talented player and has excelled against celtic in particular but there is no getting away from the fact he has been part of the team that has drawn so many games.

His stats aren't actually great - when teams have ten men behind the ball constantly giving it to a player like Kent doesn't work. There is only so much he can do.

We need different options and different variations in our play.

Coulibally wont be a loss as he has gone off the boil and a proper preseason for Barisic and Grezda will only help them.

There is definitely a foundation for a decent rangers team there. We only need 2 or 3 additions of real quality IMO.

Greg Stewart on free is a squad player for me, no harm done. But we need a few a couple of levels above that.

Plus Murphy will be back and Dorrans will be back for at least two games

if lennon gets the job then it will be a case of "he's happy just to have it"

we won't have to push any further.

does anyone really, honestly, beleive if lennon gets the job we buy another sinclair or edouard?

Always hopeful mate they know what money we have and John Park is back also

Like when we splashed mega cash on Rodgers and some signings? It has happened before it can happen again.

Speculate to accumulate my man.

To be fair you splashed out on Rodgers which surprised me.

On the transfer front, I think you had a net profit?

Appreciate the wage bill has risen exponentially (and not sustainably) in recent years though.
