Yeah, they don't deliberately drop points they shouldn't. They just don't care enough to prevent it from repeatedly happening. Which is still totally unacceptable.
That is because whatever happens majority of them get to pick up there 150k+ a week.
Footballers in general should start being put on performance based contracts. That would kick some of them up the backside

Agreed..
Every footballer wants to win whether they play 6aside or for a huge professional club.
****
when I played football I would feel more responsible to win games more playing for a club who paid me to play, and charged spectators gate entrance and paid for refs and linos to rather than one that didn't.
So not so sure about that.

I remember back in my playing days we’d regularly meet local factory workers (many of whom had season tickets) and had it drummed in that these men and women worked 50hr weeks and their only relief was 2 hours on a Saturday watching us play. I’ve had managers I didn’t get on with but I’d ALWAYS give everything for the fans... it’s a myth players don’t care
They don't mind not winning. That's not the mentality of a elite club player. That's the mentality of mid table dossers which we are quickly becoming.
I've played for England international ex footballers as managers who paid me and I felt an overwhelming responsibility to play well and win... like a job. But when I played Sunday football for the pub with my mates and I paid subs to pay ...it wasn't as important.
So not every footballer at any level wants to win that badly.
Although it’s not exactly conductive of winning trophies, the ‘not minding not winning’ attitude is well understood as being a very useful and healthy state of mind. Enjoying the process of X (where X = football or any sport/activity) rather than the goal is actually something to strive for.
Again, this isn’t exactly trophy winning advice! So I’m split inbthat on the one hand, I can’t criticise players for having that attitude, but in the other hand, I want us to sign players with that winning mentality.

I have and still none the wiser. Have you been drinking?
Also you clearly weren't a very good pub team then. I've played to a decent amateur standard back in my younger days and winning meant everything. Certainly didn't turn up for a laugh. I wanted to win. Still do now even at 6aside. Hate losing at anything.

This is pretty similar to just what I have said.
Or are you trying to stick pub football into the umbrella of "a good standard of "amateur football"?
Few years ago we lost 4-0 away at Chelsea where the performance was utterly embarrassing. At the end of the game Pogba and a few others were smiling and hugging Chelsea players. Can you imagine Roy Keane, Becks or Scholesy doing that?
.....
We still created more chances than Chelsea that game 14 to 10 I believe and should have scored 5 easy goals ourselves. We got the least professional players since SAF left. Imagine if Rashford was in the dressing room under SAF. He wouldn't dare miss easy chances. To be a striker at Man Utd if you score 1 goal every 6 good chances its great. Most top strikers score a goal every 3 good chances. Our top strikers when clinical score a goal every 6 good chances.

So who do UnIted build the new team around? Maybe Rashford with his 27 league goals in 4 seasons. The only way he will ever score 20 league goals in a season is if they make the goal twice as big as it is now!! Like most of the squad, over rated and over paid!!
.......
That sums us up since SAF left although it was more like 3 and 1/3rd season wise.
I've played for England international ex footballers as managers
