They've had a bit of luck today and England have bowled some beauties but like you say, it's not been consistent enough.

If only Jimmy was playing!

Cant understand with a WC in England, with our conditions, why Jimmy isnt playing.

Yes I don't get that either.

Outfield is still lightening quick

Confusing red ball with white ball. Red ball swings for almost 25 overs but white you will do well to get 3 overs.

Still the best bowler we've got

Not in one day cricket

It should be even better to bat on later and in a bilateral series I'd back England to chase 360ish but the pressure is on so chasing anything over 320 is going to feel like hard work.

England have a great batting line up but outside the wc how many times has 350+ actually been chased down, cant be that many? I think your right though 320+ will be very difficult

I said many times, that Anderson should be in our WC Squad, regardless of his form in ODIs or the white ball.

If the World Cup is in England and you have guy playing for 20 years here, has always been your go to bowler to get wickets, then you should at least have him in your squad.

Will he be as successful as he is in Tests? Absolutely not.

Can he bowl some deadly spells that can win you big matches, of course he can.

Remember Shane Warne's form was nowhere in 1999, he was replaced by MacGill in the test side. What happened in the semi and the final?

Aussies set now, going to be difficulty for England, big score to chase, bowling an issue again

Anderson has played the last 4 world cups. How is he the answer. Yes he might bowl a good first spell but he has no yorker, no deception and will get hit to the stands.

These so called England fans are getting desperate with the call for Anderson.

They're the number 1 side without him.

Most the pitches in this WC have barely swung, Anderson last played an ODI game in 2015 for a reason.

Yes, but firstly this is England.

Secondly, he still bowled match winning spells in those World Cups (Inzy, Yousuf, Anwar please tell me you remember)

Finally, he's not the answer, just a brilliant option to have in your squad, much better than some of the options I see.

To be fair Kash, I do agree that Jimmy's form in big ODI tournaments is a big blot on his amazing career, I always hoped he would make up for it in this one.

The leading wicket takers in this tournament are 90mph bowlers except from Amir

Here comes moeen.... feel the spinners will play a big part today

What was Amir's form like before the World Cup out of interest?

If things had gone your way in the 1st 10 overs today, this Anderson subject would never have been brought up.

I said about Anderson around 2 years ago, I even said it last year and agreed with the Zahra? guy who wanted Jimmy back.

This is not something I've just started saying.

If England does not win this world cup , home of cricket should be moved to Pakistan.

I'm not calling for Jimmy to be selected or anything. Just with the conditions the way they were first up, Jimmy's control in these conditions are second to none. It's just disappointing that Woakes, Archer and Wood have been inconsistent with their lengths.

We are generally pretty reliant on our batsmen though and it looks like we are going to need them to perform today.

Terrible, but we've got crap options and he's a terrific tournament player as proven 2 years ago.

Whereas Anderson does not play limited overs cricket and was never considered an option as he's now just a test match player.

You're only calling for Anderson because you have failed to take a wicket in the opening overs today and you're fearing the worst.
